Can you believe that we’re already nearly two-thirds of the way through summer 2010? Man, time flies. Don’t let it get you down, though – as Marty James reminds us on newly-released promo single Just in Time (4Summertime), it’s not too late to spark up a summer romance. For this upbeat joint, the One Block Radius rapper/singer sticks to the right side of the aforementioned slash, paying tribute to the unbeatable combination of warm weather and blossoming relations over producer Happy Perez’ blend of sizzling synth riffs and head-noddable percussion. If breezy melodies and electro-influenced grooves are your bag, then there’s a good chance you’ll fall head-over-heels for this single, but those who prefer the artist’s more alternative/hip-hop-oriented jams may be left a little colder. Your thoughts, readers? Either way, fans should keep it locked; while Just in Time isn’t currently set for inclusion on any forthcoming project, I have a feeling we’ll be hearing more from Marty James before the season’s out!

Marty has the ability to be successful in a group like One Block Radius but can still go out and carry a solo career. That being said his vocals on this song are solid. The catchy synth production carries the song and helps give the song a kind of "summertime" feel.

Marty was worried that this song would be too pop for the Booth to enjoy. I think he might be right - as our audience tends to lean more towards an urban-pop edge - but quality music needs to stand on its own two (so to speak).

I've got no problem with pop - there's nothing wrong with having a good time, and this record is good times. Can't say it completely blew me away, but true to its names, this is one that would go great as you cruised around in the summer heat. Digging it.
