Since Floetry’s Marsha Ambrosius first announced her solo deal with Dr. Dre‘s Aftermath Entertainment in ‘05, she has lent her voice to various projects featuring Nas, Rhymefest, OutKast, and Common, but never has released a solo single—until now. On her debut offering, the UK-born/LA-resident songbird has broken up with her ex-boyfriend, but still finds herself in love with him; naturally, that makes her wonder What’s Goin’ On? Frequent collaborator, The Game, begs the question as well, except he just wants her to forget about that ex. Using an Isley Brothers‘ sample from Footsteps in the Dark (see Ice Cube’s It Was A Good Day), What’s Goin’ On is an ideal choice for that late-night cruise.
wow...sounds like tha Game's makin a comeback!...maybe they'll let him bacc in G-Unit...lol...nah...jokes aside cuz her voice isnt even funny...her vocals are almost as strong as Mary J's...this tracks solid...4 fingers up...~
This beat is really Hard right here. Game actually steps his game up once again on this one. This production is tight for real! Marsha can really sing; and I like her soul style. It's pretty good. I can't hate. Rotation at least!
She sounds great on this track, great vibe, bangin beat from the get go, and the Game had some great flow on the lead-in. Overall, hot track! Definitely reminiscent of other floetry stuff for me.
Dre needs to help Marsha get her long overdue project out, since it is quite obvious that nobody at the label will ever confirm any release date for the album known as Detox.
I love this beat. Marsha has amazed me before. For some reason, I never like how her voice gets mixed though. I think her vocals should be mixed to give a sharper feel. It's something iffy with the EQs I guess. Overall, the song is tyte. Game is coming strong lately.
the game leads this off perfectly. I heard this today actually before it came on djbooth, and I liked it a lot. Her voice is great, born in the UK too man, hell yea! aha
Lovin' the sample...."Just wakin' up in tha mornin' gotta thank God, I don't know but today seems kinda odd!"
The Game tears this song up, but I would've liked to hear another verse from him. Marsha Ambrosius sounds great as well!
Mixed feelings. Lyrics are so average [[marshas]] Voice is like a lighter sound of Mary J. But Games verse is HaRd. I can dig that. And the sample is FrEsh for sure. I'd use it as backround listening at a kick back fo sho.
i always thought marsha was talented when i heard on different rappers songs (she a pretty nice list of features). This is a good song, you cant go wrong sampling a classic. I cant wait 4 her and the game album to drop
YH YH YH YH YH YH YH YH YH YH YH TUNE, COME ON REP UP THE GAME ABOUT TIME HES BACK GOOD JOB, IVE ALWAYS BEEN A FAN OF THE GAME GOOD HES MUCH BETTER WITHOUT G UNIT BULLSHIT, TAKE THAT BACK THEY R GOOD APART FROM 50 CENT CUS HE IS THE WACK ONE
MAN IM REALLY FEELIN DIS SAMPLE AND ONCE GAME STARTS RAPPIN OVER DIS BEAT ITS INSTANT FIRE. IM TELLIN YA'LL WATCH OUT FOR L.A.X GAME GOING TO DO THE DAMN THING . MARSHA HAS GOT A GREAT VOICE
da beats hot, but how many times is peeps gonna sample dis beat? Not a game fan, dont no who da hell dis chick is, but she can sing. Dis songz jus aight though.
The track was smooth, "Game" was smooth, "Marsha" sings too damn much. Too much of that annoying ad-libing. Why don't she chill on her songs, just shut up some.
