In light of the tremendous reader response to a certain Drake/Kanye/Weezy/Em collabo, we were considering giving our Feature Selection Committee a much-needed vacation and switching to an all-Forever freestyle, all-the-time format for the next couple months.  If readers liked it the first time, they’ll like it even more the 101st time…  right?  Okay, in all seriousness, we’d never subject you to that; in fact, this track will be the first and last Forever retread to grace our frontpage.  Recorded this past weekend and making its world premiere right here in the Booth, reader fave Marky‘s I Want This 43ver is a cut above your average freestyle.  Shifting unpredictably between laid-back and frenetic flows, the D.C. emcee delivers wordplay-rich bars that mesh beautifully with Boi-1da‘s densely-layered beat.  It’s clear that Marky doesn’t plan on stoppin’ anytime soon, and with rhymes this razor-sharp, he’s undoubtedly headed to the top. IWT43ver is a Booth exclusive, but fans can hear more from the DMV rapper on his recently-released Nothing Is 43ver mix-album, available for download here.

The other day I tweeted that I didn't want to receive or listen to any FOREVER remixes/freestyles.

I spoke with Marky on Friday and asked him if he had any brand new exclusives for us to kick off this week. He said, "I got you." When this arrived in my inbox, my first thought was "Oh boy, this better be good." And well, its great. There is no sense in trying to compare his bars to anyone from the original version, but for what its worth its dyn-o-mite.

I don't know why people try to pass this stuff off as a freestyle

This man's flow and the pitch of his voice fit perfectly over this dope beat. For a mixtape track, this is a definite banger. I loved when he switched up his flow.

What?! No love for "reader fave" Marky ... DMV stand up!

I found Marky's dynamic flow more impressive/enjoyable than the somewhat average lyrics he brought, though he drops quite a few good lines in 3rd verse. Overall, he definitely had full command on the mic.

I like the beat but the melody in the hook was really boring

This track is weak! The kids got a nice tone... and the track has potential...but the hook needs more beef and harmony... and the lyrics contain too much garbage...

I feel the songs concept though... about not havin' things given to you...

It just felt like it was missing that universal passion!
