Now that the DMV’s finally on the map, could Las Vegas be the next to blow? Along with Sin City emcees Mr. Finley and Nique, the always quality Marion Write is slowly but surely making a name for himself in hip-hop circles, earning respect with dope DJBooth.net freestyles and lyrically dense tracks like his latest cut Much Appreciated. Coming off producer Trade Voorhees’ (whose name immediately reminded me of Lark Voorhies of Saved by the Bell fame) upcoming compilation album 1 Hour Horror Show, Much Appreciated opens with a carnival-esque beat that Write immediately sets to torching with rewind-worthy lines like “I got my new blue suit on…the largest money maker like Luda next to Neptune gods.” Intelligent yet hard-hitting lyrics like that are always much appreciated in the booth. "carnival-esque beat", spot on again Nathan.
A goofy sounding track, but I think it's a masterpiece(Trade Voorhees is on to something here) that should be respected. Who is this guy??? In the rotation and then some. |

The LV area is on fire right now inside the Booth and Mr. Write is the spark that lit this flame. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be checking for new LV talent weekly.

Write is deceptively complex. Although it may not sound like it on the surface, you'll have to rewind this a few times to catch all the references and wordplay. Vegas is on the come-up, and Write's leading the charge.

I've highly enjoyed all his previously featured tracks/mixtape on booth, and this right here is no exception.
I like the way Voorhees uses a minimalist approach to the beat with a nice, playful melody and let Marion's lyrical skills shine through on mic ... 3.5 and will balance out with @that1kid13's rating. |

Carnival beat indeed. Reminds me of a Zelda Ocarina of Time random village tune lol.
But in regards to Mr. Write. He went in. When the song first started i wasn't sure how i would dig it. Man. He's dope. His wordplay is ridiculous, and i love his flow. so Unique. Reminds me of some Bay stuff a little. Thank you for putting this up, and supporting WC rappers, as well as rappers everywhere. Booth is doing there job by finding real music. |
