Sweeping love ballads have been a pop radio mainstay for, well, as long as I can remember, and Marina Chello, the first signee to Bad Boy President Harve Pierre’s Crazy Joint label imprint, is hoping to parlay that time-tested formula into a debut single (and first Booth feature) that will kick her musical career off with a bang. Tired of waiting on the Sideline, Chello shows off her pipes as she pours her heart out to a man who seems to no longer share her passion. While the record as a whole is nothing we haven’t heard before, the NYC native’s own breathless backing vocals, as well as an inspired bridge make for a catchy, hummable tune, and producers Nasri Atweh and Adam Messinger‘s brassy synths give the instrumental a gently unconventional feel. Chello’s debut LP, What’s Done Is Done, is currently set to drop June 2nd; here’s hoping this single gives her the momentum she needs to step out from the Sideline and into the limelight.

i actually like this, kind of. The beginning had me and the momentum was high, and when the chorus came up, it quickly left. so this song is pretty good, just the hook could use some alterations.

this is a nice song.. too slow for my liking though, sounds like a song that britney spears would put on her album!! hopefully when she drops her album it'll have a couple of up-beat tracks ;)

Shorty is fine! Kinda like a Britney look-a-like. The song was pretty hot, definitely has potential to stick around in the R&B pool for a while. Vocals are sub-par though.

Yea she is sexy. She kinda reminds me of a young Mariah Carey the way she is singing on this song. The beat is ok but this song isnt all that thought its not catchy.

This is not my type of song, but I'll review it fairly. The production was actually pretty nice, if not a little slow so it kinda felt like it was dragging. I didn't mind the hook, but it wasn't all that catchy. Her vocals are pretty good and pure, better than a lot of famous pop singers out right now (yea... I'm talkin bout you Katy Perry) Anyway this is a good love song that I can see a lot of the ladies getting into...

Her voice deserves props!
But the whole song has really nothing new at all… too cliché! The percussion sets the monotonous tone. The melody? Meh… it’s been overused by the boy/girl bands of all time. |

Her voice is pretty smooth and hyptonizing. The production was decent although its a little bit too slow. The beginning part sounds pretty good but after that it does not really get catchy after that. The whole song you know what you are going to expect from it. solid song by marina chello!

Has a bit of a 90s power ballad going on for it. She sounds fantastic though, one of the nicest sounding voices I've heard in a while; not overdoing anything or over embellishing. The song actually started off really poorly and tacky for me, but you then get caught up how pleasant her phrasing is and realize she's pretty soulful. I think the melody is a bit cross-genre and lacking that 'rnb feel', but I'm curious to hear what else she has to offer.

Britney, cb126405? I was thinking she looks more like Jessica Simpson. But do you know what both them women have in common? They cannot sing. Marina, however, has a real powerful voice. The entire depth of that voice is not on display here, but she has true talent - I will co-sign that. Nice production, CAN hit at radio if promoted properly.

This is the typical slow ballad, nothing new really. One of those songs u wanna listen to when u r sad or wanna make love with someone! But she has a touchful and soulful voice. Nowadays voices like that of Amy Winehouse or Anastacia are more appreciated, but I always prefer the "classical" voices like this girl...in rotation and I would put it in a love compilation lol

Marina Chello can really sing. Go check out some of her YouTube videos from like 07' She sounds much better than Bad Boy product Cassie, but I'm not feeling this song. Something is just off...chorus, tempo,something..it is just not a lead single I guess. More of a filler song. Her song "Come Back To Me" is much better. It's old so it may not be on any future album.

Wait wait, I don't remember a time when Jessica Simpson couldn't sing; she can. Fantastic slow jam... the vocals are perfect for the beat. She has the looks too, let us hope mainstream catches on and we hear more from her.
