Mariah Carey - Candy Bling (I Remember) (Remix)
Artist: Mariah Carey
Featuring: T-Pain
Producer: Tricky Stewart, The-Dream and Los Da Mystro
Album: Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel
Label: Island Records
Who would have ever thought that a track by Mariah Carey called “Candy Bling” would turn out to be about hardcore sex? Sorry, just kidding. Of course Candy Bling is everything you think it’d be, a sweet and innocent ode to young love featuring Mariah’s always angelic vocals and teenage-friendly production work from The-Dream, Tricky and Los Da Mystro. For the remix Mariah brings on T-Pain for some auto-tuned goodness, and Pain responds by dropping one of the cutest verses of his career (he shockingly doesn’t even try to get anyone to take their shirt off). Still, any track that heavily samples Ahmad’s classic track Back in the Day is all right by me, and while the Candy Bling remix won’t exactly go down in history as a classic, it’s a perfectly fine, light and enjoyable musical snack. Mariah’s new album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel is in stores and reviewed on DJBooth right now.

Not sure why they didn't get this version onto the original album? T-Pain and Mariah sound good together because they rock the same production styles. Not sure if they will eventually put this out as a single (maybe?), but this is poppy ear candy that I enjoy for face (or ear) value.

Nathan said it best in the blurb, this is a nice fun enjoyable listen. Not meant to revolutionalize the music world, but worthy enough of keeping around for a few months.
Mariah was a little low on the vocals, but I really liked this lovey-dovey track. T-Pain was a great feature as well. |

I loved the original, and still prefer it. However, T-Pain did his thing. On either version of this song, the beats really serve their purpose- providing a mental throwback.

i think mariah sounds the same on every track she's ever done, theres no flexibility in what she does. tracks good but nothing real special

Hold up! I didn't really noticed how this beat sounds like "Blame It On", till T-Pain's verse knocked in, but its still a BANGER!!! for me.

i used to really like songs like this, maybe i'm just getting older and my tastes are changing but this is really not that good. i'm sure teenagers will like this and it will probably get some radio time. Let's be honest though Mariah always sounds the same and T-Pain is just well...T-Pain

whats up with all the MC remixes? This is a pretty smooth track. I cant hate, it should be a radio hit. Should've been on the album.
