The Minneapolis mic murderer is back with another one for the Booth. Better Days finds Mally straying from his from his cold weather-state roots. With Miami native Marcus Banks handling production duties, it seems only right that this breezy, heatwarming ode to the come-up sounds something like a conscious collab between Rick Ross and Common. Here, Mally teams up with Danami to send an uplifting message to those feeling down-and-out, emphasizing that, no matter how dark life may become, there are brighter times ahead. On the hook, Danami isn’t exactly outstanding but more than holds his own, giving Mally a great launch pad to create something special in the verses. This is just a free track for fans, but if it’s a sign of things to come then I know that I’m definitely downloading the artist’s next project, Quality of the Mind. Will you?

Everything that Quentin said (see above) is exactly how I felt about this song when Mally sent it my way. Its a good sign for things to come, but it has minor flaws. The production is decent (nothing out of this world) and the guest hook is okay (nothing to write home about). But if we are supplying feedback for the star of this show, its all pretty good. Now, whats next?

Agree with DJ Z, everything was solid, but not perfect.
Good flow, meaningful lyrics, but his tone was a little monotonous, had me falling asleep after a little bit. Good track, I'll be waiting to see what else he comes up with. 3.5 rounded up. |

You up average in the dictionary and you'll see 3 things.
1) a single value (as a mean, mode, or median) that summarizes or represents the general significance of a set of unequal value. 2) A picture of Lil' Flip. (Has there ever been a rapper who has dropped as many consistently decent tracks?) 3) A link to this track. |

The beat is a bit too repetitive and needs to be turned down for me to focus on the track. Production could be fixed and not feeling the hook on this one that much. The way he delivers his verses is good. Some changes could be made to this song to make it better. Just an average track.

After about two minutes in I was starting to get annoyed with the beat. The transitions are a bit cut and dry at some points and isn't too kind to my ears. Don't get me wrong, its hot but not for four minutes straight. Maybe if there was a bit more to it I would enjoy it better.
The verses were alright but didn't really do what I was hoping for knowing what this song was suppose to be about going into it. Maybe the production wasn't right for this type of song or maybe I just didn't find anything I liked. Mally and Danami give some good rhymes for the listener but not in the way that would make them feel it. This song had the potential to be something more but it just wasn't for me, 2 1/2 stars rounded up. |

This song would be better with a different beat, it wasn't really catching my attention. He wasn't bad though.

LoL @Phantastic's second definition of average.
With the plethora of Hip Hop talent branching in various directions it's comforting to know that conscious rap continues with Mally. Played it a few times and most of it flowed in one ear and out the other. "I'm touchin on life the palms need to be sanitized" stuck with me the most and provided me with the motivation to repeat. Not a favorite but appreciated. |

The production swallowed up Mally. I really had to focus to hear him through the droning production. Increase and clarify the vocals. This track has banger potential, but needs to be cleaned up.

Just a solid track by Mally...no more or no less. It's nothing special but damn he can sure spit. The production is better then most but it also lacks a little mojo as well. I for sure wouldn't mind hearing this track again but I wan't some energy or something to make it more special!!

I agree, good but not great. The production is smooth and lyrics, as always, are genuine and flowing and it's an overall very positive track. Point is, I'll take substance over style any day.
Keep 'em coming Mally !! |

I gotta say I disagree with at least half these three star ratings. That production was epic. I loved "On the Way Up," so seeing his feature today I knew I was gonna be rating this nothing less than four stars. This track is @*#$! sick!
First thing first, that production is so refreshing. It's been a while since I have heard production this good. Really coincides with the message that Mally is putting out there. Lyrically, Mally delivers what I have come to expect from him. He really goes in with some heart felt lyrics. All you gotta do is listen. Danami like Quentin said, isn't exactly outstanding, but he puts out some good lyrics and holds his own with Mally. The flows on this are really consistent and that is a plus. This track deserves nothing less than a banger rating, and that is exactly what I'm gonna give it. |

I enjoyed writing this track and working with Danami... I hope you all continue to listen... P.S. I sent the wrong version to DJ Z and thats why the drum beat and others sound pretty bad...Hope you enjoy the final master...also that's not Danami rapping -it's me because this was the reference track... man I totally @*#$! that up! Anotha Time, Mally |

@x20nickel, right on with the repetitive beat. I kind of liked how it evoked almost like a video game type of sound (Zelda, perhaps?), but it does get boring.
Can't deny the guy's talent as a lyricist though. Great rhyme scheme, I felt. Rhyme placement in relation to each bar was like watching a complicated jigsaw puzzle come together. The flow was excellent not just because Mally spit it well but also he delivered in a way such that enunciation created auditory poetry. Solid work lyrics and all. |

What's up with these many jazzy beats lately? Is good music "cool" now or something?! ;)
Mr. Top Hat speaks my mind better than myself! @Phantastic: lol, so Lil Flip never did something above average, huh? XD |
