Maino - Don't Say Nothing (Remix)
Artist: Maino
Featuring: Diddy-Dirty Money
Producer: Mista Raja & Sef Millz [for Coalition Forces]
Album: Day After Tomorrow
Label: Hustle Hard/Atlantic
Featured back in May, the original version of Maino‘s Don’t Say Nothing received some downright harsh reviews from many of our regulars. Today, the Northeastern street mainstay is back to set things right with the official remix. For this version of the joint, Maino retains Mista Raja and Sef Millz’ bass-booming, string-laced boardwork and Kalenna‘s guest vocals; the main revision is the addition of the other two-thirds of Dirty Money. Singer Dawn Richard contributes some Auto-Tune-drenched bars on the back end, and Diddy jumps on board to spit a typically braggadocious guest verse, kicked off with the lines “My b*tch is Albanian, my crib big as a stadium, my whip is operated by a naked Panamanian.” Fair enough – forcing your chauffeur to drive you around in the buff is as good a way as any to let the world know you’re one crazy M.F.-er. So, has Maino managed to redeem this joint with the help of the Ciroc spokesman and his cohorts? Whatever your take on the matter, you can keep it locked for all the latest on his Day After Tomorrow LP, which has yet to receive a solid release date.

Good thing Diddy opened the record with his "This is the remix" reminder or else I wouldn't have realized what was going on here (sarcasm, sorry).
Though I am a fan of Maino (dating back to my first introduction to him in early 2004 at Universal!), I feel like this remix is way way way too similar to the original, which wasn't that great to begin with, for it to make enough of an impact. The Dirty Money sound is embedded in the club and I cannot see enough DJs mixing this into their club sets. |

To me Maino still hasn't matched one of his best songs "All the Above". This is pretty good but nothing great.

Ah - the beat's a little more catchy on the remix side, but I can't say I'm a fan of anyone's flow here. Not as bad as I feared, but in a week the world will forget this ever dropped.
"My b**tch is Albanian"...Um, ok Diddy. Do Albanian women have some sort of reputation for hotness that I'm not aware of? |

Heard this yesterday while flipping through Hot 97 & Power 105 (I've escaped Houston radio for the time being).
With a southern mindset, the beat is booming and works in the clubs. Looking at this from an overall song perspective, the verses of course leave a lot to be desired and Diddy being Diddy is obvious enough. I don't think I would want to know someone who had a naked guy drive him around. |

Well at least it wasn’t as bad as the original, but that’s not a lot to compare it to.

the production is aweful, and Diddy got no place on track to run his mouth.
