Maino has a long history of making controversial statements (see Rumors, a mixtape cut on which he spread uncomplimentary gossip about practically everyone in the game). Now, though, the Hi Hater emcee seems to have outdone himself. Claiming to possess psychic powers of prognostication, he hijacks Kwame‘s beat from Skillz’ ‘08 Rap-Up to give listeners some freestyled 2009 Predictions. Skillz’ Rap-Up found him skewering 2008’s major players with fond yet pointed humor, and expressing immense hope for the new year; Maino, however, is a cynic of the highest order. In the ‘09 he envisions, the economy is only going to get worse, record sales will to continue to disappoint, Amy Winehouse will OD, and 50 Cent will make an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show. All of these depressingly realistic (well, maybe not the last one) predictions and more should make this street record a hit with the glass-half-empty crowd. So, who’s got the right idea – the sunny Skillz or the incurably pessimistic Maino?

This was a clever idea.
That Amy Winehouse ish is so true. I think Lil Wayne may not be far from it either (Though I hope he drops some classic eclectic ish) Chris Brown and Rihanna...lol. I agree Hahahaha....Karrine and Autotune! Humorous and decent joint. Let's see if any of it comes true. |

nice but id agree with him on most except him being th next to drop!!! hahaha maino is just trying to jump onto skills idea but a good spin on it i must say this song will get his name on the map (not miner tho)

Damn. Maino been stepping his game up recently. I thought he was a one hit wonder with no flow but I cant deny this one. Some spot on predictions and I like his delivery. Great beat this is hot for sure!

Maino's got a very dexterous flow which is well suited for this, accentuating every punch line for maximum effect.... On top of dat explosive lyricism and bangin new concept .... Im diggin it ... |

Just like "Rumors" this had me laughing throughout. As for the production - thank Kwame and Skillz; Maino ripped this off for "Predictions".
Let's see a release date for his album and a new single, eh fellas?

Maino proved me wrong, his flow & lyrics on this are so much better then what he usually comes out with. Some of the predictions are a bit out there, but still made for a good listen
