Sssshhhhh…..hear that? That’s the sound of Macklemore and Ryan Lewis slowly but surely building a hardcore fan base for their ceaselessly honest music. Ok, you don’t have to be quiet anymore. In fact, feel free to discuss their new single as loudly and exuberantly as you’d like. The song the duo has used as their “step on stage” song during their fall tour, Make the Money has become a fan favorite and today gets the full audio treatment, allowing us to hear Ryan Lewis’ intense, moving and piano driven beat in all its glory for the first time. Behind the mix Macklemore delves deep inside rap’s cash fetish, promising that while he’ll take an expensive car filled with beautiful women (who wouldn’t) he spends sleepless nights writing new rhymes for a far different reason: “I was born to be a warrior… if I did it for the money I’d have been a f**king lawyer.” While not attached to any project, fans are assured to hear Make the Money if they make their way to a Macklemore and Ryan Lewis enhanced venue – a full list of which are available here.

 Macklemore and Ryan Lewis can do no wrong these days - and that doesnt mean at any point, previous to "these days" did they do wrong haha. The production is stellar and has shades of Kanye's stylings and Macklemore is so sound on the mic its hard to believe his skills come from anywhere but natural ability.
