Let’s be honest, there’s an old school rap head contingent of DJBooth that are going to collectively lose their bowels over the fact that the legendary DJ Premier and young rap upstart Mac Miller are on Face the Facts together. In response I’d like to quote that infinite source of wisdom, Wayne’s World: “Your point is both clear and concise, but allow me my rebuttal.” I don’t think we even need to mention that Prem’s laid back, classically cut beat is dope, so let’s turn our attention instead to Mac’s rhymes. Those same old grumpy rap heads should definitely recognize a plethora of references from the young Mr. Miller, ranging from Souls of Mischief’s ’93 To Infinity to a quote from Gangstar’s classic Mass Appeal. Sprinkle in some download and mp3 references and you’ve got nothing less than an inter-generational rap collaboration, although I’m sure some debate will rage in the comments below. Those who remain unconvinced of Mac’s hip-hop credentials may be convinced by his forthcoming mixtape, ‘92 Til Infinity, hosted by DJ Jazzy Jeff, coming ahead of his Blue Slide Park album, set to drop later this year.

Mac might appeal to a younger crowd, but a move like this proves he is serious about his career. Asher Roth has been trying to prove he can do this for a few years, following his debut. Mac is getting a head start before his drops. I can dig it.

The beats hot but I'd rather it went to someone else, I think macs overhyped tbh, still hot though good effort from both.

Nice beat, nice story-telling and some nice scratches but I think it's one of his good-not-so-good-songs. You can't really say anything against this track but in the same time it doesn't catch your attention like most of Mac's songs

I'm a massive fan of Mac Miller now, 'Blue Slide Park' is on my most wanted list. He's just so good at being himself and sharing his experiances. Nice laidback flow from Miller. Beat is ok though.

"1 Million downloads, I am taking over your bandwith."
That doesn't make any sense.
And starting your verses about how Premier made the beat an you need to kill it...just start killing it already and stop talking about being a great rhymer.
Did you really "spend all night writing these rhymes", Mac?

Argh... beat is straight classic but mac could have done it with some more confidence. it's understandable since there won't be that many MCs out there that can handle the name DJ Premier. from a rookie like Mac, it was a decent effort. and the beat is just sick. think I could play just the instruments all day long.
