The love of money may be the root of all evil, but it’s the lack of it that tends to drive people to the worst deeds. And for those who say that it can’t buy happiness, well, lose yours and see how good you feel afterward. On the lead single off his forthcoming street album, making its world premiere in the Booth, Lyriciss offers a little insight into the power of the Almighty Dollar as he chronicles his own neverending quest to Go and Get It. Producer Soulful! departs from his usual, well, soulful style to craft something a little funkier, slicing and dicing a flute-laced sample as the DMV representative sketches out the profound effects that paper—or the lack thereof—can have on one’s professional, social and romantic life: “They say money makes the world go ‘round and I believe it, ‘cause you can turn your whole life ‘round if you receive it / If your checking’s the nicest, and your savings the meanest, a chick’ll drop out of school and onto your penis.” Digging this head-noddable ode to the power of lucre? Lyriciss manages to be equal parts poignant and humorous, while fully on point - esp on this catchy chorus. The only criticism I have is at points it seems he is so full of energy that the production tempo is a little too slow. Nice touch adding the cuts to the back end.

This beat is very creative and it had me bumping through the whole track. Lyriciss does good on here too. Flow is great for the beat.
