Lyn Charles - The Resurrection of Hip Hop
Artist: Lyn Charles
Featuring: Big K.R.I.T
Producer: David "Kung Fu" Adams
Album: American Tragedy
Label: Unsigned
While I’ve always thought that rumors of hip-hop’s demise were greatly exaggerated, that oft-rehashed argument shouldn’t stop listeners from enjoying a cut as dope as Resurrection of Hip Hop, the latest single and first Booth feature from Philly representative Lyn Charles. Here, David “Kung Fu” Adams’ head-nodding production sets the stage for lyrically astute bars from the Philly representative and Booth-approved guest spitter Big K.R.I.T. Released this past July, Charles’ American Tragedy LP is out now online.

The spree that Big KRIT has been pushing lately shows me that success is already in his front windshield. Although I hate to say it, the chorus felt weak on this track, Charles can spit, but eh, not feeling the chorus and production.

i disagree Dj Red, im @*#$! with the production... this shit is hard. Im imagining the chorus in front of a crowd and I am going to disagree again. I think that the chorus "the is the resurrection of hiphop" is chilling and would turn the crowd out! Charles can spit was a bit of an understatement here lol! and this was one of KRIT's hardest verses. Real recognize real! Charles u got my eyes now.

Big Krit gives arguably one of his best verses here. He breaks down the state of hiphop in one verse. That MAJOR! As for Charles, it sounds like he literally "offers his soul" to you when he raps. I really felt the passion and pain. as for the beat, correct me if im wrong i dont believe it was supposed to be over bearing. I think it complimented both artists very well--because if you read the lyrics they are saying some deep shit. Im awaiting more from this Charles cat. And if hov is signing him that would be a smart idea.
