Ready to take his life and his career to the next stop, Lyfe Jennings has hopped on the Midnight Train to Georgia. Following his single, Cops Up, the former convict turned crooner hands off a mature and Wyclef Jean-like (think Gone Till November) single that exemplifies his third studio album, the aptly titled Lyfe Change. Over a sweet and harmonious piano melody, Lyfe opens his arms and wholeheartedly embraces the whole world; yes, even you.. After numerous delays, the 11-track Lyfe Change is set for release on April 29. It will mark the singer’s third studio album since his 2004 entrance into the music world.
Whoah, this is very very different and caught me off guard, especially from Lyfe Jennings. It started off with a folksy rift and consisted of a melody that's more consistent with an alt. rock song. And to top it off, he's doing a bit of covering from midnight train to georgia. I don't think his voice is actually suited for what he's trying to pull off. Some parts were awkward for me to listen. But I still have to give it a 4/5 for trying something like this; at the very least, I enjoyed it.
IM 1 OF HIS BIGGEST FANS I LIKE THIS DIFFERENT TYPE SOUND, ITS SOLID...EXPECTED MORE FROM HIM THO WHEN IT COMRS TO HIS LEAKED MATERIAL BUT ALL EXPECTATION ASIDE THIS IS GOOD.
I'm not exactly sure if this is the "real" Lyfe Jennings. I think he is good at what he does, but I don't think this is his style right here. I hope his album isnt like this. I wouldn't ever want to listen to this again so I have to rate it as such.
well i think its somethin so different and so unique. Ive never heard anything wuite like it. At least not from brother anyway. I think its a very very hot song just because of the individuality nice tone. I can see me listening to this some years down the road. But really not my style. This isnt the sort of song i can ride to and i love riding music
this would have sounded better with a kinda reggae beat/rhythm going through it. be honest if you were a DJ would you have this in ya crate...so how can i rate it
i lyke it when artists take that extra risk and test their music .... its diff but it could be for the better .... its not bad ... not one bit .... so in rot i guess ha ... extra * for the braveness
Yes Smoov I agree with you...just because this is not his typical style that doesn't mean it's bad! It's only different...it's not hip hop, it's not r&b, it's a ballad...I like it!
