Singer Lyfe Jennings is back with the new single, Cops Up, off his February of ’08 release, Change. While Jennings pleads with whoever is listening to call the police, he might be reporting the wrong crime. He tells the 911 operator he has been “shot through the heart”; although he fails to mention he stole a vocal synthesizer from T-Pain’s studio. Using the effects, Jennings removes the naturally painful gruff that normally stands out in his voice. Who knows, maybe its all a grand plan to get someone arrested for doing too many guest features?

get off him for the T-Pain vocals, R Kelly and Chris Breezy have done it, and probably some other artists too lately, it was obviously gonna get out there for other artists to use. I think it sounds tight to be honest...good song in my opinion.
Woh, Lyfe totally swithched up his style here compared to his first two singles "S.E.X" and "Must Be Nice." The synthesizer makes him look like a pop-oriented artist instead of an R&B artist with his raspy, yet soulful natural singing voice. It's a decent record and probably will gain a lot of radio play, something Lyfe probably is waiting for.
I like thiss. its whole lotta different than S.E.X., the vocal synthesizer makes a nice touch.. this is gonna gain alot of radio play and i guarantee his album is gonna go Platinum if he sticks with the vocal synthesizer for a while..and it will p*** T-Pain off since he uses to much... and theres a song on here by T-Pain called Church and they said hes got alot of street cred.. NO HE DONT!! HE ALWAYS USES THE VOCAL SYNTHESIZER TO MAKE HIS VOICE SOUND BETTER.. NEBODY CAN DO THAT!!! T-PAIN IS FAKE!!

I think the track is ill regardless of whether or not he used a synthesizer. So what. Lyfe still killed it on the track, && this version sounds more polished than the original by Luke & Q. Lyfe was just switchin up his style. A chorus doesn`t kill the song if the song overall is fiyah, && it sure don`t kill Lyfe.
