Following the same path as Ludacris and Shorty da Kid (among others), New York native L.U.V. is using his various connections as a radio host to launch a successful debut album, entitled Flu Season. Not looking to be dismissed in favor of a feature artist or big-name producer, the 23-year old is going solo for Fresh 2 Death. With the assistance of underground veteran Perion‘s brass-drum /Jay-Z sample combo (from What More Can I Say, also borrowed by T.I. and Joe Budden), L.U.V. brings enough swagger to make Fresh 2 Death bang just about anywhere. While Flu Season isn’t expected to hit the streets until December of ‘08, L.U.V. has plenty of time to make a name for himself in this industry.
I am definitely feeling the beat on here and the Jay-Z sample is sick for a chorus. Then L.U.V. comes in and he just doesn't have the right delivery to make this instrumental the hit it is supposed to be. It's just not anywhere as good as it could be with some better talent on the microphone. Sorry, but his voice alone just isn't proper for rap.
Cool track, digging the hook as well. He kinda sounds like a lil Shawty LO smoothness and at times tries to sound like Lil Wayne. I like this song tho despite what others have said, I find the flow good and its something I'd bump again.
Money money money I spend my money...stop it! The beat is really cool but I'm fed up with the money-thing. It's a pity, with this super beat it could have been a hit!
