Lupe Fiasco - Lamborghini Angels
Artist: Lupe Fiasco
Producer: Mr. Inkredible
Album: Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album, Pt. 1
Label: First&Fifteenth/Atlantic
Hopefully there will be no sample drama this time around and we can just focus on the music. For the second single off his upcoming Food & Liquor II album, Lupe Fiasco has chosen Lamborghini Angels, a thoroughly hypnotic affair driven by a beat from Mr. Inkredible that’s by turns pounding and swirling, club banger and underground exercise. For his part Lupe displays some of the lyrical skill that first earned him acclaim, laying down bar after bar of expertly delivered rhymes that, frankly, it’s going to take me a minute to decode. If the rest of Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album, Pt. 1 proves to be as gripping as Lamborghini Angels, when it drops on September 25, Lupe might once again reclaim his spot as one of hip-hop’s best emcees.

I'm looking forward to the next CD by Lupe...This is a prime example of why... Sick poetic style delivery that makes you think and visualize every line. Lupe is as talented as ever. Let's get it....

The first single from Lupe's F&L2; was weak, this is more on track to the artist Lupe is growing to be, not quite taking in the songs lyrical value as of yet but for now I'm loving the sound and irresistible flow

I can't give this 4 stars and I'm a huge Lupe fan, I'm just not feeling it. I doubt that September 25 date will stick either, Lupe needs a hit single.

I agree with swish. I don't think this is a bad record, I just don't think it is a hit.

If playing this song on repeat x10 before going to sleep last night doesn't say this song is good then I don't know what is.
All the songs out there suck and Lupe knows how to bring in something interesting back to the table. Overall the song is crack. People need to realize that. |

execution is lazy. lyircs (as always, getting boring to keep saying this) is on point, but its still not as execution and butter flow perfect as the cool. personally, im losing alot of hope that ill see the good old lupe that was there in 2007

gave it another listen and can provide more details. the production isnt all that great and can play itself out very quickly. Lupe's rhyming scheme is far too linear. like, the sample the chorus borrowed was from his verse on Angels and that verse was rhyming schemingly more interesting. its a disappointment in that respect and the production.

The lyrics are hypnotically haunting, and quite complex. The beat simulatneously matches the mood of the story and keeps your head nodding. The hook-- I'm still trying to decipher the meaning of it-- is catchy, and the image of "Halos down with the doors flapping" is really cool. Amazing song.

I have to say Lupe's lyrical ability is excellent but are often hit or miss with me. This sound is great hits the spot and is quite catchy which surely means it would have commercial success alike underground chums.

Honestly, it took me about 1458669514 listens to get what the f*ck he's talking about on this one. Hypnotic soundscape, flawless delivery, lyrical wizardry. DOPENESS.

The song is great. It's lyrics appear well thought out, have meaning, and a story unlike too many artists today. You can clearly picture and understnad what he's rapping about. As for the rest of the album... I can't say the same.
