At a time when artists are trying to take their music to places other than on earth (hello Kid Cudi and Yung LA), Lupe Fiasco is especially determined to reach the stratosphere, as we can hear on his latest promo track I’m Beamin. After having leaked last month, infuriating Lupe in the process, this Neptunes-produced, synth-soaked track is now officially enjoying its time in the spotlight. More than almost anyone else, Lupe has undoubtedly earned his I’m-better-than-you-and-I-can-say-it license (which he makes full use of lyrically), but this track lacks a certain indefinable ingredient that makes it good for most other emcees, but just average for Lupe. It’s definitely no Kick Push or Superstar, but chances are it’ll hold its own amongst a DJBooth community starving for all the new Lupe it can get. I’m Beamin will be available on iTunes at the end of this month, but Lupe’s upcoming album, Lasers, still has no set release date. Keep it locked for updates.

The lyrics on this don't leave much to be desired; Lupe comes as hard as ever. The only beef I have with this is the sub-par Neptunes beat. I know Lupe will sell no matter what but I hope he puts out something a bit more radio-friendly in the coming months to boost some sales.

I dont think this will be on the album, i read somewhere that due to it leaking so early, the record label decided against a album placement (at the current time).
Production dosnt sound like a typical Neptunes beat (there's nothing wrong with that), which suits Lupe's flow & lyrics. I dont think this would of been a hit if they pursuid it as a single, thought its a pretty dope track |

Another great track under Lupe's belt, it seems like he goes to the studio with a goal to only out due himself. I'm surprised to hear that the Neptunes produced this but it also sounds like it was made only for Lupe. I doubt this will be a single or could have the same success as Superstar but I hope it'll make the album.

Solid banger by Lupe once again! A great choice for a first single but however I feel that "Shining Down" was a better effort... This is the type of single that needs heavy promotion to get a buzz...
-Lyrics He came with a few good bars here for the first and second verses of the song such as the line "Baby girl doesn't matter where your purse from/Ya' nails did, ya' hair done, ya @$$ phat, but you're dumb" Lol, yes Lupe, I must agree! But anywho.. The third verse was kinda blank and wasn't as hard as the first two... I think Drake would have been a better subject to put there... does anyone agree? lol... -Production Best production I've heard from The Neptunes in awhile! That beat is so 'zoney' lol! -Overall ONE thumb UP and ONE thumb to the side lol. |

I usually don't like most of the beats Lupe spits over but this is probably the hottest beat i've heard Lupe kill!!
Lupe has the ability to keep me interested simply on his lyrics and flow!! So with that said, combine a hot beat with Lupe's killer flow and you got a BANGER!! |

The beat on this is one of the best I've heard from The Neptunes. Yes, Lupe's lyrics on here arent as good as you want them to be but there still solid. His lyrics work really well with this catchy beat. Definitely a classic right here! They better be playing this on the radio because this has some major radio potential which is pretty rare for Lupe. Dope song!

I'm gonna have to agree with djblaze. I love Lupe as much as the next man, but personally this just didn't get me that excited. For him it's just not that dope, though I hope he's doing more tracks with The Neptunes, that's an ill combo right there.
Put it this way, am I upset it may not end up on Lasers cause of the leak? No, not really. Oh, and how has no one brought up the fact that he flipped Drake's line from Forever? "Fail's my first name, never's my last one." Dope.

The blurb was on point, cuz this is nowhere near Lupe's potential. I'm waiting for that new track that reminds me of former hits, but for now this will do. Lupe's lyrics are good as usual, and the production and hook do their part. It's just missin that hit feel to it.

Not your typical Lupe beat, but it is your typical Neptunes beat with a hazed out 808-powered synth layered rhythm, and Lupe Fiasco drops freshness in lyrical department fo sho!. The joint is solid as its equipped with a trunk-rattling beat, but also boasts deep lyrics too. I suppose only time will tell if this is legit and will make the cut or not.

I think is the type of track that is just enough to satiate the typical Lupe fan but this is meant to expand the fan base. I.E. I've been in hibernation in reference to most of Mr. Fiasco's music but something about the bump on this combined with his lyrics is intoxicating. Some of y'all who didn't like this try bumpin' this in the whip (if you have anything that you could call a sound system).
