Heard in the sounds of hip-hop today is the nonstop bragging about cars, jewelry, etc. Great for radio and video play, but never refreshing, an artist who changes it up is Lupe Fiasco, bringing actual lyrical content and less smoke & mirrors. On his newest buzz single Coulda Been off his late 2007-bound follow-up album, The Cool, Lupe uses clever wordplay to divulge what he would do… if he wasn’t rapping. Lupe’s distinct delivery is something that has not been heard since a young Jay-Z and Jay himself has said as much.
dam rite Dave.. he does say somtin new allda time on da mic, but dis aint a singl...srry but it need a lil sometin else (some bass boost) but odr den dat it HOT! Respect Lupe
i agree that its not a single... but still this song is great... a great song to sit back and realize the good in your life and how it coulda been bad.... its a straight classic but of course thats because of mr. lupe in my opinion he is the best give this man some awards
Hot. I hope the next album, Lupe might do more joints like this. "THE COOL" was a classic. But i'm hoping he might go back to the F&L style for a sec on the third album.
