The Greater Los Angeles area has its fair share of cities on the hip-hop map (Compton, Long Beach, Watts), yet for some reason, the Inland Empire hasn’t had much representation nationwide. Since any artist from that area would need the Heart of A Lion to get his/her region “on,” that is exactly what newcomer Lunch has up his sleeve in his chest. On the strip club anthem, Get’em Girl, Da General brings over fellow West Coast native Ray J (who can’t resist bringing his camera) and together they make it rain as the ladies dance to a beat by producer Fingazz. If Get’em Girl is any indicator, when Lunch serves up Heart of A Lion this August, expect a lot more artists from San Bernardino, Ontario, and Riverside to feast as a result.
This track has been bubbling on the West Coast for not too long and I had no idea who was the artist was until now. Ray J has been sounding strong on his recent singles and featured appearances. His hook is what makes this record. More and more amateur rappers are putting out songs with strong featured verses from big name R&B artists. It can hep their popularity status, but in the long run they will be forgotten.
itz cool 2 see da INLAND EMPIRE get sum play. i agree wit da tone chef ray j has been doing the damn thing lately. solid cut from lunch he's got a good flow
I like it, Ray J has the chorus on lock and for Lunch to jump on this and not kill this beat is impressive enough for me to give respect to this rapper that prolly will only drop one or two more songs that will get played
Everyone is busying ripping Ray J on DJBooth, but if dude is soooo awful, why is he in such high demand? This deserves rotation outside of just the WC and will certainly get it from me in the CHI.
I agree with you Z..Ray J does his thing HARD in my opinion! He sounds like a good dude and he has serious skills! He definitely adds a nice dimension to this track. It really should be his song with Lunch featured. With cheeks like that he looks like he is still eating lunch! Just kiddin Lunch...don't eat me up next! Anyway; this track is catchy as hell. Rotation for sure!
