Ludacris - Sex Room
Artist: Ludacris
Featuring: Trey Songz
Producer: Kajun
Album: Battle of the Sexes
Label: DTP/Def Jam
Have you ever seen a TV show’s title and been confused about its theme? Well if Ludacris’ latest album was playing on television, it’d be pretty hard to get it twisted. Battle of the Sexes isn’t the cheesy MTV show that takes Real World rejects and places them in arm wrestling matches; instead its Ludacris’ ode to wrestling the opposite sex in the bedroom. Accordingly, Luda’s third single Sex Room was released to radio this week and it looks like Luda has a hit on his hands. The song features the Jason Kidd of hooks, Trey Songz, who’s been the go-to man for radio smash alley-oops, and Trigga doesn’t disappoint here. Produced by Kajun, Sex Room is the album’s most intoxicating single so far and looks to be an upcoming club favorite. It has that vibe reminiscent of R. Kelly’s Feelin’ on Yo Booty, which we all know did its fair share of damage in the clubs, as well as on the charts. Will Luda’s third single have the DJBooth going “Boomshakalaka”? We’ll find out soon.

Bad choice for a single. The verses and chorus are strong but the track lasts about 2 minutes longer than the standard radio hit. (5 minutes and 30 seconds?! The average radio-track runs 4 minutes tops) Baby-making tracks have been absent from the mainstream radio for a few years now (Can anyone think of the last slow jam that became of a Top 10 hit? lol)
Personally, I would have gone with "I Know You Got a Man" as the next BOTS single; the song has enormous radio potential (as does "Tell Me a Secret") As of now, the BOTS sales are a bit underwhelming but, if those two tracks are released as singles, I can see Luda tapping out at around 800K. Can't wait for Ludaversal. |

I think this has a good shot at succeeding at radio (sorry, I disagree with you Phantastic). The radio version of the single is slightly shorter, but we opted to feature the full album cut. Why? Because we can and radio cannot.
Trey kills the hook - almost stealing the thunder from Luda - but that is to be expected. I'd expect that producer Kajun (who I am not familiar with) will get a few calls as this one rises up the charts. |

No problem Z. We'll see what happens. I wasn't aware the track was being cut down for radio. Maybe the track stands more of a chance than I thought it did. I hope it works; Luda's my favorite rapper and I'd like to see those BOTS sales get a bump.

I think this is an interesting choice for a single. Wasn't my favorite track on battle of the sexes.
Luda's verses are solid, and the hook is great. This isn't my kind of song though. |

Just average. This was Luda's worst album, but that's just because they were all great. This song has a reliable trey songz bumpin and a good spit by luda, but just decent on my ratings

As odd as it may seem as a radio hit I could see it taking off. I dont know if it'll reach top 10 but I can see success from this single.
It should be interesting to see exactly where this takes Luda on the charts. Trey makes this song for me, in my opinion Ludas on cruise control on this one. (Which is still 10x harder than most rappers today). |

I'm really the opposite of people on this track, "tell me a secret" did shine more light on Luda's lyrics but as far as it being a radio single, he chose wisely. "Tell me a Secret" is more of those gems that you find on the album and rate above most other songs. I thought Trey Song just killed it here in "sex room." I mean, he gave a lot more on this track then Luda did, so of coarse he is gonna be the stand out artist here. I enjoyed it better than his other singles from the album.

I hate posting twice but I feel myself always wanting to say more. Had drake been on this track rather than Luda and the hook was the same, bitches would lose their @*#$! minds, or even for that fact, just add him on a remix. Drake would have tore this track up, swear to god.

Trey Songz is really KILLIN IT these days, he's really become THE r&b/hook guy, and he definitely outshines Ludacris. Luda's flow is kinda slow, and i hate to say, but his rhyme scheme is getting kinda repetitive and predictable. Overall, Trey makes it a great song, but the song prob won't leave the sex room (lol).

soothing beat and the tingling instrumental is on point, complimenting luda's suave lines are intresting
ludas lines are pretty discriptive in the type of action involved for this track. from the very beginining too the whole cam recorder line by trey songz is and luda pretty much paints the picture for the whole scene in this track. who says you need music video, when all you need is luda's lyricism to really bring this track's steamy motives to your attention. all in all 3.5(not yet my taste in music) but for what its worth, it defiantly does its intended job. 3spins but wouldn't have a problem giving this 4spins either M-MP3-C:My MP3 player certified |

I really don't have that much to say about this one as my fellow Booth compatriots, other that it was entertaining. Ah, I'd listen to it again, but am I excited about it? Not really.
On a side note, every woman I know would go running as fast as possible from any dude who asked her to come to his "sex room". I'm just saying. |

Will some girls like this? yes...
Will me or any of my friends? no... This is kinda like a less catchy splash waterfalls, and while it's a decent overall song and luda comes with his usual fire, it is lacking the overall appeal to make it a hit. |

Great song, and definitely one of my favorites off the album. I'm can't decide whether or not this will be big though. For some reason I just can't see a song called "Sex Room" being too big, even though I want it to be. We'll see.

It's ok, though its probably nothing that I would have in my rotation. The production is alright & the hook from Trey is good, though im not feeling Luda that much on this, which is odd because the tracks about a subject matter that he usually smashes. This just seems like a immitation version of other Luda songs on the same subject (Splash Waterfalls is the song that it reminds me of the most).

Pretty average track from Luda(just like most of his last album), it's still dope, but I hope that he sees, that making overly commercial albums won't necessarily give you sales, I mean Theater of the mind sold twice as much first week as Battle of the sexes, without strong singles.

Sex Room? That sounds like a pretty unclean place haha...
This song is cool, I would have thought that Luda and camp would have gone with 'I Know You Got A Man' or 'Cant Live With You' as the next single...I didnt really like his album it was average at best but this will prob be another hit for Luda...Trey steals the spotlight on this one though, Luda was rapping to slow for my liking...still I would bump this from time to time...3.5 stars |

Jason Kidd of hooks is and has been truth for like a year now. he has really grown vocally and lyrically. Of course Luda always comes through with the "necessary" lyrics to keep you enthralled throughout the track

its a lot harder to sell albums these days. Ludacris barerly made it to 600k with theater of the mind, and i practically heard his whole Battle of the sexes album before it came out |
