Ludacris - My Chick Bad
Artist: Ludacris
Featuring: Nicki Minaj
Producer: The Legendary Traxster
Album: Battle of the Sexes
Label: DTP/Def Jam
Ludacris and Nicki Minaj on a track called My Chick Bad? We haven’t seen a pairing this highly anticipated since the San Diego Zoo tried to mate those two endangered pandas. The second single off Ludacris’ upcoming album Battle of the Sexes – following the now omnipresent How Low – My Chick Bad is centered around some chopped-n-screwed production courtesy of The Legendary Traxster, followed closely by Luda’s always punchline heavy flow and, I think it’s safe to say, the only verse in hip-hop history to feature a Lisa Leslie reference (I have to give it up to Nicki on that one). Still, this might be one of the weaker Luda verses we’ve heard in a minute, although that probably says more about the man’s incredibly consistent quality than any specific failings here. Or maybe I’ve been popping crazy pills? Does the Booth disagree? If My Chick is Bad puts you in the mood for some more gender balanced hip-hop be sure to cop Luda’s now Shawnna-less album Battle of the Sexes, which will now be coming out on March 9.

With the line-up that Luda has on this new album I cannot believe this was the cannot-deny-it second single choice. The radio will play this, but I won't.
Sidebar: This is a great look for one of the most talented producers to ever come out of the Chi - Traxster. |

Really like this, Luda impresses me more and more every time. All of his songs sound different and he rides a different flow over every one. Loved hearing Ms. Minaj on here as well, since everything she touches is hot right now. 3 star record, and a good choice for a single.

Was this really chosen as the second single? I didn't think that was confirmed. Either way, I enjoy the song. It's not Luda's best but it's certainly enjoyable. I don't see this matching the success of "How Low" but it should provide Luda with a bit of airplay. Personally, I'm waiting on the Ne-Yo and Flo Rida collabs to leak; those will be radio smashes.

Like you said, for Luda this is just OK...Big ups to Z for noting the EXCELLENT Traxster beat, and Nicki did a pretty good job too.
Still, I can't help but wonder how this woulda been had Shawnna been kept on there...(that was the subject of a long Twitter rant of mine, but I have calmed down since then). Hopefully we'll get an official statement and everything is still OK (I woulda had that album if it weren't for that meddling Tallahassean!) Maybe there are lingering feelings between her and Def Jam, or maybe Luda is just as sick as I am of that UNRESPONSIVE MANAGER. (Tell him anything, he says "I got ya" but nothing else. But I digress...) |

First verse was weak, 2nd verse was better, couple of good lines, but couple of cheesy lines too
"I have to give it up to Nicki on that one (Lisa Leslie line)", whats so special about that, its nothing original There were so many cheesy punchlines in here Best Punchline: Luda - "Chicks better cover up they chest like pasties" Nicki - "...leave em hangin like a testi" - funny like her "Scrotum" line in Finale haha |

Obviously not a "How Low" but still in rotation. I expected a little more from these two. I still don't like Nicki THAT much. Overall and ok song. This will not be a commercial hit.

This song suited Nicki well, the beat is FIRE, even though the deep-voice man gets on my nerves a little. Luda's verses were hot, but a little weak.

Sick beat, not as memorable as How Low but if OJ Da Juiceman can get on the radio theres no reason this shouldn't

I wouldn't listen to this song more than once if it weren't for the heavy strings on the beat (there's something about strings on a track that draws me to it), and Nicki too.
The hook is a little repetitive, too, but I don't doubt it'll get radio play. Won't match "How Low" on the air, though. |

This is probably one of the worst tracks ive heard from Luda, he was pretty ordinary on his verses & even got overshadowed by Nicki Minaj (That wasnt something I was expecting to say when I first heard this track). The beat was the highlight, though even the production wasnt that great.

Why wasnt the new Lloyd Banks track featured today? That track is a banger in comparison to most of the songs featured today

I love me some Luda, which is why I know that this is far from his best work. The flow's dull and the punchlines are throw aways for him. Play this and then What's Your Fantasy back to back. Yep, see, this is lazy Luda.
@1_O-TYME_1 If you can quote another Lisa Leslie rap reference I'm all ears. If I'm not mistaken, Nicki's was the first ever. Historical moment. |

i was really hoping for a luda(how low) type verse, but it sounded more like a mixtape verse. This may be the first but i was feeling nicki morr than luda. THIS NEVER HAPPENS. Still for most rappers luda's verse is a beast.

never been a luda fan. wasn't surprised here. couple of good lines:
"bring the racket like venus and serena" "come out swingin like tiger woods' wife" I'm a Nicki fan, but I wasn't feelin here verse. Lines were slick, but her delivery wasn't as nice as usual. This girl, like Wayne, can seriously rap about anything. Nightmare on Elm Street, Lisa Leslie, and The Mentalist?! Wow. Not on a good enough computer to adequately judge the beat, but wasn't impressed with the mixing. He forced it a couple times with the "My Chick Bad" screw. And it sounded like a typical Luda beat, but again, I'm not impressed by that. |

For all its lyrical shortcomings, a substandard "dirty-south" beat, he/she do present a good variety of punchlines in usual exciting and animated style. But its the hook that causes a magnetic attraction between my finger and the skip button.

This is like ORIGINAL Luda on here! I am definitely feeling his latest releases. All sound good. Nicki Minaj isn't half bad...Her style is growing on me. Its a little off-base, but its original. I'll throw it in Rotation, but this could grow to be a BANGER for me in time...

beat goes hard!! I agree with Blaze, old-style luda at least with the beat. coulda gone harder with the lyrics but Luda hasn't done that with singles in years...

i WILL be bumpin' this! i do agree that for luda, his verses were mediocre, though mediocre luda is better than most rappers at there best. Nicki didn't disappoint either. great single choice...

Its just you could put pretty much any mens basketball player in there, or you could put Candace Parker, so I'm just saying its nothing new, it just happened to rhyme |

I wasn't actually feelin this very much. Luda was OK but VERY far from his best and the hook was a miss for me. Nicki was decent. This was only OK for me though.

Can't believe this is gonna be the 2nd single. With the line up I've seen for the album this should of just been an album cut. Even more shocking, I think Nicki outshined Luda!

agreed its not Ludas best, but the beat and chorus are hard as fu*k. im surprised ppl arent talkin bout the chorus, i think it was the highlight of the song. 3.5
i kno one thing for sure tho, if Luda went harder on the verses this would get all 4 and 5 star ratings. tell me im wrong. just try. |

I don't know if this is the official second single. He made a video for the remix featuring more female rappers. This should get automatic airplay based on how hot both the artists are. And this song seems to be real popular among the kids also like the ones that usually love Lil Wayne or Drake.

Luda was cool on this track, but honestly I was a tad bored listening to this song...until Nicki Minaj came in and ripped it! Nicki has sick swagger and sick rhymes on pretty much everything she's on. I wouldnt call this a huge hit for Ludacris, but its more good buzz for Nicki Minaj and its definitely in rotation for me. Maybe it'll grow.

"Coming out swinging like Tiger Woods wife," says Luda. I laughed at that one even though I've been saying leave Tiger Woods alone. Nicky Minaj did outshine him, but that line was cute.
