Despite all the rumors - and actual onstage announcements - it appears that Shawnna, the female head of the DTP family, has not left Ludacris’ label to become one of T-Pain’s Nappy Boys, in fact she’s proceeding as scheduled with the release of her upcoming collaborative album with Luda, The Battle of the Sexes. In order to build some buzz around that sure-to-be-fire album Shawnna’s released the stripper-pole oriented How Low (Can You Go), a track that’s centered around T-Minus’ absolutely banging production (though I could have done without the helium voice on the intro). Lyrically, Low is everything you’d expect from a Luda banger, but minus a couple words on the hook Shawnna’s completely absent. By Low’s line of thinking, every football game is a “collaboration” between the team and the water boy. Battle of the Sexes will come out sometime in 2010, hopefully with far more Shawnna on it.

I've had this on my ipod for a week or so now. It's @*#$! nuts! The beat here is absolutely crazy. I don't know how big of a hit this will be; it doesn't have that radio feel to it. My only beef with the song is the "Go Low" part of the chorus. I feel that if the song just went from "How Long Can You Go?" into the verses that it would flow a lot better. Not a big deal, but that's the only part I feel is out of place. My only question is...where is the Shawnna verse? Wasn't the point of the album to spit together? Either way, Luda's the king. This is a banger.

Luda is that guy! I'm only disappointed that Shawnna didn't get a verse..I'm hoping maybe they switch up and Ludacris is featured solely on the hook on another track..I kind of feel like the reason behind this cd is to get Shawnna's name out there, I mean luda is already well established...so ummm she definitely needs time on that mic!!

The beginning was annoying as hell, but the verses were lightning fast, the kind of Luda verses that I love! Song is decent, but the "how long can you go" part erks my nerves.

I would have rated it higher but I was disapointed that we didn't actually get a verse from Shawnna. What's up with that? In other words, this is a banger from Luda, but as a collabo track, I can't go higher than average. Plus that chipmunk/helium voice is aggravating the hell out of me.

Damn! Luda is always good at making them freaky rap jams that keep everybody in the club dancing. Beat will beast out in the club setting.
Is it the best club jam he ever put out? Nah, far from it. Overplayed phrase, kinda generic beat and the helium-voiced part makes the hook a little annoying, instead of catchy. You know what, eff all that, it's Ludacris so a four star rating is given! A BANGER!!! it is. And oh! the way them chicks was working to this track on the hip hop awards the video is gonna be !!HOT!! |

Yeah, I'm really feeling this. Luda is one of my fav rappers of all time. This song alone should be enough to show y'all why. Shawnna didn't get a verse but at least Battle of the Sexes is still coming out. I would've swore that Shawnna was done with DTP.

****ATTENTION**** That is not Shawnna on this record. It's C Why from Galaxy. I know her personally and that's her voice. Unfortunately I don't think Shawnna is going to be apart of battle of the sexes. I think my girl C Why did a good job though!
