With Ludacris’s much-talked-about new studio album, Theater of the Mind, set to be released this fall, fans and DJs alike have been wondering when the album’s lead single would drop? Well, the wait is over. Assisted by Chris Brown and Sean Garrett on the hook, What Them Girls Like kicks off the project and does so in typical Luda fashion: appealing to the clubs (check), appealing to the radio waves (check), and appealing to the ladies (check). Bringing back the Indian flutes that Scott Storch and Timbaland used to rely on so heavily is producer Darkchild, who keeps the production simple in order for Cris’ crisp delivery and top-notch wordplay to shine from start to finish. Theater of the Mind is set to drop November 11.
Listen to Ludacris's What Them Girls Like ft. Chris Brown & Sean Garrett More songs from Ludacris
this is coo something new for Ludacris...the beat is a lil generic in my mind but it works...chris brown sounds good on here...i think its coo he's collabing wit all these rappers...
Typical Luda song....FIRE! Does anyone else agree with me when I say Ludacris is the most underrated rapper right now???? I've been waiting on this album forever, and the lead single doesn't dissapoint. Crazy flute laced beat, and the flow is nuts. Bout to blow up on the radio. BANGER!
This song has a very good hook, but it is a little something different for Luda....but I like it. A few remixes and this could be a great club song. I (however) hope that this isn't the best song that comes out on his album this fall.
YEAH THIS IS REAL NICE CHRIS BREEZY LAYS A NICE HOOK AND LUDA AKA THE KING OF THE SOUTH TELLS US EXACTLY HOW THEM GIRLS LIKE SEAN GARRETT HOLDS HIS OWN DOWN BEHIND LUDA AND C.BROWN
I can see this track getting a whole lot of radio play for a long time. It has that radio hit written all over it a catchy hook from CB and SG and Luda spits real nicely. The beat is also what u hear on the radio so this should do well.
The "Uh-Oh" at the beginning and the clapping immediately reminded me of that Lumidee song. It had a latin flavor as well. I really like the crispy sound of Darkchild's production. I liked S.G in some parts, and then not so much on others. This is a straight radio favorite. The subject matter is really cliche and not too in depth, but it's doing the job it's supposed to be doing. I'll toss it in rotation. I've heard better lyricism from Ludacris....but hey...what can ya do?
Hmm... Alot of different comments...
I would have to give this a 3 though.
I Love Luda, Besides Kanye' he's my favorite
rapper, But the song kinda falls short for me =|
If he would have gave Chris a verse or more lyrics
than what he had, I t would have been Alot better =)
it's a good song, except i hate Sean Garrett!! Dude has an annoying whiny voice! Luda came correct fo sho his verse is fire - another hit record for him AND Chris. Good production, just not really feelin the schoolyard claps tho
Teaspoon I agree with you. The song has a good beat and Luda and Chris are good in it, but to me the overall song ain't anything special. The chorus is extremely repetitive...I've heard better! It's in rotation for sure, it has a bangin beat, but I wouldn't consider it a banger
The songs tight...I agree with some of the other ppl on here - hook could've been better. Ludacris' lyrics/flow is always nice to hear...I'm biased to the beats (flutes) - India represent
While Ludacris is my favorite rap artist this is pretty weak from him. The song is actually good kind of good beat decent verses from Ludacris but not his best cool hook from Chris Brown its alright to me but this is the worst single Ive heard off any of his albums. Hopefully he has something better up his sleve on this album. 3.5 stars
As a huge Ludacris fan that's bought all of his albums since Incognegro I have to say that this is, along with Money Maker, his most disappointing single. It's not the verses or the beat, those are great. To be honest, this whole song was held back by a terrible hook from Chris Brown and Sean Garrett. I can see what Luda was trying to do, because this is a sure-fire radio smash, but in comparison to some of his other work it is a real let-down and I was expecting much more. Ludacris still is and always will be the King of the South, out showing everyone from T.I. to Lil' Wayne (who he out shows on "Throw It Up", "I'm So Hood Remix" and "Gettin' Some Remix"; admit it.), but this song is a bit disappointing. I give it 3.5. Sorry Luda.
The beat seems way too generic and a little dull. It bumps but it just seems boring along with the whole track. It doesn't stand out, the hook is catchy and Luda's rhymes are on point, but the beat doesn't do it for me. Its aight.
As a huge Luda fan I feel the need to say that I feel this is more of a club song meant to garner interest in the new album. The lyrical tracks we have come to appreciate from Luda will be there, but a song like this is necessary to gain recognition, airplay and such.
LUDA: BEASSSSSTTTT!!! D@MN, I LOVE YOU LUDA.
I LIKE THIS TRACK!
THE BEAT IS JUMPIN'!
AND ITS NICE HOW HE FINISHED IT WITH SOME NICE
WORDS LIKE THAT. AW, HOW SWEET. LOL! =)
