From Slim Thug to Rick Ross to, more recently, Mannie Fresh, it seems like everyone in the game wants to be a Boss. And why wouldn’t they? You get to puff Cohibas in your $30,000 desk chair, skim money from the company expense account, sleep with your secretary – you know, boss stuff (disclaimer: everything I know about bosses I learned from rap videos and daytime television). Booth newcomer Louisiana Cash may only just have joined the Battery/Jive Records roster, but he’s already got his eye on that corner office. On this new single off his forthcoming street album, the Grambling native paints a larger-than-life lyrical portrait of high-rollerdom, spitting over Back to the Money/My Gurl beatsmith Oddz.N.Endz’ bluesy, bass-booming boardwork (Anyone know where that sample came from?). So, readers, will the business-minded swagger Cash exhibits here take him to the the top of rap’s freshman class? If you think so, you can hear plenty more hot tunes on the emcee’s Leader of the New School mixtape, set to hit the ‘net later this month.

Now we have a new "boss" epidemic... Great. I've never even heard of this guy. This was weak.

I was not expecting that at all. Oddz.N.Endz revealed his pocket rockets (lol not the rockets you're thinkin' about Ladies, even though with that beat, I can understand the possible confusion). That beat hits too hard and Louisiana Cash sounds like the Young Buck and the old T.I., which is a plus in my book.

When you listen to thousands of songs per week, it easy to spot an overused song title and assume you'll hate the record. I (admittingly) did that with this Louisiana Cash record.

After I found out that Oddz.N.Endz (whose work I have liked) produced the cut I knew I'd be a little more open to it. Then I played and whatdoyaknow, its pretty damn catchy.

Sidebar: With all that said, I am still sick of the "Boss" theme.

Wasn't expecting this at all! The intro to the track threw me off big time..With that said the boardwork is the highlight. Louisiana Cash doesn't fall too far behind. I rockz with this.

RT @djbooth "When you listen to thousands of songs per week, it easy to spot an overused song title and assume you'll hate the record. I (admittingly) did that with this Louisiana Cash record."

Agreed, I admittedly did the same thing. The production saves it from cliche, but I'm not sure how much Cash lyrically does to defy expectations. In the end, I'll give it a rotation. Solid, not great.

I knew it! I knew it!

This last weekend when @Z contacted "Cash" on Twitter for a booth feature, I went ahead and gave this a listen. And right after first listen I knew the only reason DJBooth Crew even considered this for feature is Oddz.N.Endz's banging production.

Overall, another beat done wasted cos Cash's recycled rhymes fail to match the track’s insane potential.
