Lloyd has found his niche as R&B’s resident Romeo.  On an unofficial remix of Year of the Lover, the third single off his current album, Lessons In Love, the Atlanta superstar steamily urges his ladies to celebrate the 365-day love fest.  With Eric Hudson‘s production perfectly crafted to complement Lloyd’s patented falsetto, the record is reminiscent of the successful sound that the singer cultivated on his sophomore set, Street Love.  With the addition of Rock City, the remix becomes less about the musical relationship between singer and audience, and more focused on the duo’s energy, excitement and patented island vibe.  If Year of the Lover succeeds in overshadowing Year of the Gentleman, war may be imminent, but whoever wins, the ladies are sure to be satisfied.

I am struggling after a few listens on how to dissect this track for rating purposes but I will say this. The hook was a lil' repetitive but I think the Autotune was blended well, Rock City wasn't rememberable. This would roll nicely in the whip.

This production is nice. Lloyd seemed virtually irrelevant lately. WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS BUZZ? LOL. This is definitely a decent joint. Into rotation is goes.

This song caught my ear when I first heard it back in June, so this remix was a great excuse to get it back up on the site and in the ears and eyes of our members.

Lloyd's new album was on par with his sophomore effort and hasn't been able to sustain the buzz (I agree, MH) that he had prior to its release. Support good music.

This remix is poppin, the ins and out of the tones do kind of sound like a phone getting a text message or somethin lol, This production sounds a bit different than the original, im actually feelin this alot more than the original, but i also think the original complimented Lloyd better,
Menilik MHD,
i can answer that one for you, because some people have a different "ear" to music, some people hear things differently, like me, MH, and alot of other people, we comment and hear the production better, and we can tell the differences, everyone is musically talented in some way, you've just got to find your Forte lol

I was feeling the original and, although the beat is nice, it kind of has a more energetic feel that doesn't really match his vibe and speech. Rock City was alright as well but kind of unnecessary.

I've never heard the original edit but this one is really cool I must say. I'm feelin the music, it's soft but energetic at the same time...Lloyd sounds really good and Rock City too! In my opinion both of them are useful, I find them good together on this song. Yeah I think I'll listen to this many times ;) it caught me

i like this song alot even though most of lloyds songs have the same feel and vibe i would like to see him go in a new direction even though the classic lloyd is alaways nice but the same thing for so long can be boring
