Gearing up for the release of his third studio album, Lessons in Love, R&B singer Lloyd has released his newest official single, Year of the Lover, which can best be described as the epitome of a modern-day R&B hit; Lloyd’s sensually-charged vocals combined with Bryan-Michael Cox‘s slow, synth-heavy beat appeal perfectly to his primarily female audience. For the remix, the Atlanta-born crooner picks up one of the ladies’ bigger heartthrobs in urban music to add eight bars off the top. As Plies describes what he wants his wedding to be like, women will certainly fantasize right along with him – well, at least till he says ”I’m just playin’.” Year of the Lover is the third single from Lessons in Love, which will be available in stores and online this upcoming Tuesday, August 5.
Yea Cruzz, I'm not feelin this one either, has that make love up in this club vibe to it. Lloyds next album is not livin up to this goodness of his last one. I've heard some good tracks on there, but there are a few that suck like this one, and one song that I heard that I absolutly hate.
Typical Lloyd if you ask me. Nothing too special from this song but I think its real sensual and its gonna be a great song to cuddle up to, 3.5 stars from me
First 5 seconds sounded identical to another Plies song, Hypnotized. This is pretty good, but Plies screws it up in my opinion. His voice here seriously sounds like extra slow motion, and he cant pronounce 1 word right. Lloyd kills this beat though, from the verses to especially the chorus. Would have liked to seen Plies dropped from this, but it will get more airplay with the 2 of them attached to it. 3/5.
Uh Oh.... look who's back! It's good to be back to work, everyone. DJ Booth will be going REAL HARD with LOADS of brand new music and features. This is a formulaic move to roll out this song as a single. It's the old, if it isn't broken, let's not fix it move. Let's see if it works. And shout out to Lloyd for name dropping DJBOOTH in the liner notes of the new album!
IM ACTUALLY FEELING THE SLOW BEAT OF THIS SONG,PLIES LAYS A DECENT VERSE AND LLOYD TOPS IT OFF WIT HIS VOCAL DELIVERY NICE TRACK TO BUMP WIT UR GURL TO..
3 stars. the hook coulda beeen better but overall decent song. . sounds liek love in this club. but still a decent song. in rotation. he's obviously releasing this song though as a single, as many times as he said " this ones for the radio" ...
I like the song Plies Should Have Been In It More Its Like he Starts It out Likes Its His Song Then Someone Takes Over and Ur Like Where Did He Go (I know Im Crazy) But I Still Like It There Voices Dont Go That Well Together
Okay, love Plies and lloyd. Here's my opinion. Take him out cause he does nothing for it, and have lloyd sing a little more up-beat and this could be a great song. Sounds a lot like Mj on this as well
ok i heard da version witout plies n i like it betta. plies verse doesnt really help da song. but i like dis song. heard it like 3 weeks ago on his myspace. cant wait for da album(AUG 5)....but yea it do sound like a typical lloyd song which ant really a bad thing.
I'm a sucker for slow songs, but this honestly sucks to me. The music is good but they sound boring, and this is weird coz I usually like both of them. Well this is a song I would put when I kiss my boyfriend...and that's all
Im a big R&B fan and Lloyd has a nice diffrent voice but many times he just seems to be in the wrong tracks. This is definately what he should be doin. Plies on the other hand bring nothing to the track...
If this song didn't have garbage ass plies it would have okay. But he ruined this song with that intro. Lloyd was really all that but it could have been beter without plies
I don't know wat these people talkin about but I like this yea its a typical lloyd song but if you don't like lloyd then y would u comment on his song. he's doin wat he does best. Its hot I like it.
Man dis my cut right here! just plies sets it off every time and lloyd and trey songs are doin they thing to! And i know trey aint on here just sayin! banger! no better yet classic!
