Last year, when Lloyd dropped his gold-certified sophomore album, Street Love, the LP included the track, Killing Me. In the song, Lloyd references a certain female by singing the line, “She’s a devil in a dress, dressed to impress.” Despite the singer moving towards his next project, it looks like the devil has made her return. Featuring MurderInc. rappers Ja Rule (waiting to release his new album) and Harry-O (who has never released his major solo debut), Lloyd details this Devil In A Dress, using some Indian-sounding production from in-house professional beatsmith, 7 Aurelius. While Lloyd’s project is currently untitled, expect its release before the end of 2008.
this isnt too bad, I like the production and Lloyd, Harry-O isnt too bad either, but Ja sounds really different on this and I dont know if I like it yet.
Dang, he does look just like the cleveland indian (Major league baseball mascott and logo), but he is still a nice smooth singer. I really like Lloyd now after his latest album. I just think something is off with this song. And, as much as I like Ja-Rule, I think he should have stayed off this track. Ja's singing parts are a real stretch, but he pulls it off sometimes, just not on here...
50 is probably getting a good laugh... like... "WFT is on this dude's mind?" Ja, please STOP searching for a new style. It's not working! I'm really missing the "old" you. ~On the B side, Lloyd just hasn't been doing for me lately.
(real rating: 3.5) Ja Rule’s attempt at a Wyclef Jean style of singing was a good move! He’s not out of tune, like in “Father forgive me”, instead he sounds really fresh and relaxed! Y’all honestly think he’s singing badly on this? Or is it just prejudice? As for the rest, I guess we all agree the beat is nice, Lloyd and Harry-O all did well, so the song is almost a banger!
I gotta step out of my box for a minute....this joint is on point....llyod always been a good......ja took some of the dmx base out his voice, lol this aint bad
yeah ja rule needs to hang up the sneakers and give the rap game a break. he shouldve thought about getting into that vitamin water or an energy drink. no one would listen to him even if pac came out of the grave and spit on his cd. stick a fork in him. lloyds tight though.
I've always liked stuff from Lloyd, but they've always lacked that little extra goodness to make it a hit... and this is no exception. He's never quite there, and Ja Rule should've stayed far away from this track. It was a good attempt at something different, but Ja Rule should stick to his Inc ways.
