Lloyd Banks - Spread My Wings
Artist: Lloyd Banks
Producer: Doe Pesci
Album: Cold Corner 2 Mixtape
Label: G-Unit/EMI/Capitol
As the NBA playoffs continue to unfold on the same day we celebrate mothers, many of our readers are rejoicing while others are weeping (hey at least the Lakers mom will be happy as their sons will be heading home). Why did I mention basketball? Well, I just saw Jason Terry do a celebration move after he made a three pointer and all I could think of was the title to Lloyd Banks’ new mixtape leak. The Flying V? Not exactly. The Vulcan salute? Negative. Spread My Wings? Indeed. The latest song to drop off Banks’ forthcoming mixtape, Cold Corner 2 (see previous effort Getting to it Mandatory), Spread My Wings is the kind of gritty record that the perennial G-Unit soldier does so well. While a head-nodding melody from Doe Pesci lays the background, Banks discusses the activities in his life that both elevate him mentally and physically, doing what he can to be “fly.” At the time, Cold Corner 2 does not have a release date, but be assured that DJBooth.net will keep you updated as more news is released.

Typical Lloyd Banks on "Spread My Wings," so lets talk about the producer - Doe Pesci. This is the third record, I believe, I have heard him produce and all three have banged. No different here, obviously.

Nothing special here... at all. "suck my dick and keep it". How did that sound like a good line to put in a song.

@ Dj E-Na HAHaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, HI-Larious! I'm a Banks fan, but he kinda sleepwalks thru songs sometimes. This being 1 of those cases. 2.5

Lloyd Banks is one of the best lyricist out, but his production lacks that umf. The beat could be better. I know Doe Pesci produced it, but it sounds like a Dre leftover.

I wasn't a big fan of Getting To It Mandatory, but I am of this. Much Better. The production set up perfectly for Banks' gritty flow.

I like this joint from Banks. Its a really slow banger and the hook is pretty good too.
