Lloyd Banks - Beamer, Benz or Bentley (Remix)
Artist: Lloyd Banks
Featuring: Ludacris , The-Dream , Jadakiss , Yo Gotti
Producer: Prime
Album: Untitled Third Studio Album
Label: G-Unit/EMI/Capitol
What artists would you grab for a remix to your smash single? Ludacris? Check. Jadakiss? Check. The-Dream? Check. Yo Gotti? Actually, that might not be a typical line-up, but the combination still works well on the official remix to Beamer, Benz or Bentley. Here, Lloyd Banks enlists fellow artists that are currently “hot” by industry and street standards for the remix, ultimately creating a gem that lives up to the original’s standards. Notably, producer Prime switches up his now legendary beat, giving the remix an after-hours feel perfect for two-stepping under neon light while sipping Hennessy. I was hoping for a 50 Cent verse, but I really can’t say I’m disappointed by this; all four rappers deliver “heat” that would make any pizza delivery pro proud. Personally, my favorite verse comes via Yo Gotti, but that could be credited to a southern bias from years of listening to Gotti lace dope records. How about you? Which artist owns the remix? For more whip-related rap, keep an eye out for Banks’ upcoming currently-untitled album.

I've always been a bigger fan of the "less is more" approach on remixes, but I understand why mega-star power usually is the prevailing methodology. Its not hard picking my favorite contribution as Ludacris will almost always (Eminem) stand tall next to anyone emcee on a guest verse platform.

Could do without the-dream on this one. I like every one especially ludacris of course who does his thing on every record he ever is featured on. I think they should of left the chorus alone. Beat is good. Feel there should of been an official remix a long time ago.

Switched up beat, which is a proper remix. Only problem is it's kinda difficult to surpass the original tracks bangin production. As is the case here.

Thought the original was better. The new beat is nice, but doesn't top the OG. New verses is how a new remix should be done. Might grow on me, same way the first one did.

The Dream feels so out of place on this record. You got 4 rappers on this joint, and then you throw a R&B dude in the mix? Didn't work for me on this one. Banks has done much better than this.

I have to get used to this beat because the original was near perfect. Ludacris kills it as usual. Same with Jadakiss. Lloyd was good. Yo Gotti was alright. But what was up with The-Dream? I mean, I'm a HUGE fan, but what is he doing on a rap song like this?

This track is gonna blow upmuch more than the original, just because of the fact that it contains both Luda and The-Dream. I didn't really like Lloyd Banks verse, but it was tolerable to say the least. Ludacris was fantastic, as always.
The production change isn't nearly as enjoyable as the original. Dream was not needed on this track at all. He actually brought it down a great deal with his verse. I just couldn't get with his verse. Jadakiss, hands down, spit the best verse IMO. This production calls for his type of style and voice. All together, only as good as the original because of Ludacris and Jada. |

Good remix, I still like the original a little better. Even though I'm the biggest The-Dream fan, he wasn't that good on this, though "Gucci Prada Fendi" will be stuck in my head now, lol. Luda was the highlight!

Can only say whats already been said, a little worse then the original. the improvement on the original? Took out those damn car horns thank god, they almost ruined the song for me.

Though I wouldn't call it an enhancement over the original production but producer certainly took care in keeping the original vibe intact rather than treating it as a vermin that needs to be completely eradicated. But then how could he? Wasn't the original beat was this joint main appeal. Both the production and infectious chorus owned the song. If the original was "A", then I would give this remix "C+" for catchiness cos this beat lacks that pulse to get you amped!
Verses too are hit-and-miss affair: Lloyd - serviceable, I suppose. Not a fan of his voice at all. Take it or leave it. Ludacris - Studio engineer told him to go hard or go home and it sounds like he can’t find his keys. Luda !!! The-Dream - Never been a fan of RnB artists with verses on such tracks. Though The-Dream is more of an exception ("Atlanta GA") than rule, his contribution here disrupts the flow of the song. Jadakiss - Not his best but he’s still better than most. Sounds good against the beat and even though I liked the rhymes, left something to be desired. Yo Gotti - Cliched filler lines = Waste of studio time. Overall, could've been better but I’m glad that these Remixes have been sounding more "remixed" lately. 3.5/5 |

Its funny how everyone complains about there being no real remixes made anymore and when it actually does happen, everyone complains about it (Im talking about the internet community at large, not just DJBooth).
Production bangs, though its not as good as the original. Banks & Luda killed their verses. Jada's verse was good but not his best. Dreams & Gotti's verses were decent though they were probably a waste of a guest features in my opinion. Overall the remix is good, though the original is better. Instead of Gotti & Dream, I would of prefered 50, Jeezy or Loso to of jumped on this remix. |

On the OG i thought the beat was honestly the best part of the song, and although I liked the new one, it doesn't have the initial appeal of the original.
Thought the dream was wack, luda killed it, and Gotti was OK. Jada's was nice but he usually has a line or two that make me rewind a couple times, and for me this verse just didn't have it. |

I'm am with the rest of you on this... I think Dream kind of ruined the whole song. And I like Dream, just not on this record. Definitely like the fact that they switched the beat up a little for the remix. That's been missing on 'remixs' lately.

I'm gonna be a bit of a hypocrite here and say that while I usually complain about artists not switching up the beat for the remix, the downgrade on beats here was unfortunate, to say the least. They went from quite possibly the beat of the year to an ok-at-best beat, and I can't help but feel disapointed.
And I agree with Hevehitta. Dream just doesn't work on this rap tracks. Not feeling this track. *plays original* |

I was never a big fan of this song, but I'm actually gonna say I like The Dream verse. (Even though everyone else doesnt). Adds a different element to the song so it doesnt get boring. Ludacris went the hardest on it though. He consistantly always has the best feature verse!

Jada and Luda (I also feel like I need to add Bun B to this list even though he's not in this song) are artists that consistently deliver good guest verses. They both killed it and I like how the beat was switched up. Not a huge fan of the other three artists but they weren't bad in this song. In rotation for me

A few thoughts: WTF is The-Dream doing on this, Lloyd Banks was his better lyrical self on the original, as was the production. Luda and Jada could of carried this remix on their own. No ones cares about Yo Gotti when the producers manage to line up a roster of hit makers like these. And last but not least, I predict this subpar remix will be played just as much if not more so than the original by hood n!99@$ everywhere.

After listening to this, I'm convinced no beat is safe from Ludacris. He's a hall of famer on the mic. The production is a downgrade, but let's be honest the original "BBB" beat is prob the hottest beat this year.

The original beat is harder, but Luda goes in as he usually does. This is kind of a random bunch of features, but some how it work. Not better than the original though.

Young Swish I wished they had kept the original beat because it’s so much better. Also Banks was talking like this remix was on some next shit, I think it’s time to move on to the next. If Luda didn’t make an appearance I wouldn’t even be listening.

I like the remix better than the original. Lloyd Banks sounded the same as he did in the original. Ludacris was awesome, but he was nasty. The-Dream killed it. Jadakiss went hard. I really like Yo Gotti. He kind of sounds like Jeezy and Gucci Mane.
