A little over a week has passed since news broke that Jay-Z will be releasing a concept album entitled, American Gangster. There is no doubt that Jay-Z is the quintessential rapper to helm a project of that title (and caliber if it’s good), but Al Capone and his Chicago roots aside, New York is synonymous with rap artists trying to portray a ‘gangsta’ image. For that reason alone, along with a publicly known animosity towards the Def Jam President, it should come as no surprise LL Cool J has dropped a song entitled, NY Gangsta. Some would say it’s a diss record. Decide for yourself!
