After a plethora of street-focused buzz singles for his Def Jam swan song, Exit 13, LL Cool J realized the roots of his success-that Ladies Love Cool James. Following up the hood love anthem and Lil’ Mo collaboration, Cry, the Queens legend brings a wider audience appeal to the table, asking for the reaction of his Girl If I wanted to seriously commit to her. The combination of Trey Songz’s heart-throbbing hook and Tha Bizness‘s production adds a hypnotic feel in the tradition of his more recent R&B hits such as Luv U Better, Hush, and Freeze. Exit 13 is currently scheduled for release on June 29.
Note: The streaming of “Girl if I” has temporarily been suspended.
Hmm..not sure if it's just me but I have not been feelin LL's new stuff lately. It sounds either way too fake-hard or too commercial. This song isn't even that catchy, and Trey doesn't shine very well on it either. I miss his old stuff
The beat and production on this track is GREAT! Trey Songz does his thing on the chorus. Very crisp and smooth lyrics. LL sounds really good on here as well. I don't know what you talkin about fam, but this track can be a HIT! Wait till the video comes out...Then it will be all over the place! BANGER!
Yeah I think LL's on point here, lyrically, the Trey Songz hook is definitely gonna appeal to the ladies and I'm feelin this joint here. The only problem would be the production, it sounds nice and works with Trey's hook, but doesn't blend perfectly with LL to make it a great single. Its solid nonetheless, but that flute line that goes throughout may get a little annoying.
Aww snap! Da Bizness is DA BIZNESS! This production is crispy! Trey Songz's hook is tyte, but whoever mixed his vocals needs to be jumped. They should have mixed them better. LL Cool J came off on this track. This actually reminds me of Will Smith's flow on the song "Could You Love Me" from his latest album "Lost & Found" from 2005. This is a solid track, but they better mix them Trey vocals better man. I'll give it three stars. It's worth 4 stars definitely, but because of that, I have to downgrade it a bit. That makes me bad that they ain't engineer them vocals right. MAN! Almost ruined this hot joint.
I know LL Cool J wants to stick to the old but I remember many critics didn't like his last album because it mainly consisted of songs like this. I did not like his last album and I don't like anything of his that is posted on DJ Booth.
Trey did his thing on the song, but I couldn't help but ignore his contributions and focus on what LL was spittin'. I like the new angle, it works for LL at this point in his rap career. Honestly, though, who wouldn't want to hear another "Mama Said Knock You Out" again?
I used to think LL stand for Love LA. He from Queens how the fuck he put that with Cool J. Red Kango hat red sweat suit to match red adidas Game's is back. lol
This song is pretty nice... he found a use for the piccolo in music... It sounds nice. Trey songs didnt over power the song with the chorus which makes it a nice mix....
Yea this remind of sumthin 50 wuld put out..not really feelin it. I jus lik trey songz part.LL need to come out with sumthin much better. He still sexy tho lol
i like it. I can dig it. lol. Trey Songz sounds real good on the chorus as usual. I can't wait for the Album to drop to see what LL gots up his sleeve.
