With the release of their new album Getback next week (October 23), Little Brother knew that they’d have to drop a single that could creep the charts. The choice was Breakin’ My Heart, a song which has Phonte and Pooh pleading to their respective women for information about whether or not they plan to leave them. Knowing the exact person to easily get them major radio play, the duo enlists the king of the guest verse: Lil’ Wayne and the beat of former member, 9th Wonder (to whom much of The Minstrel Show‘s success is attributed to). Very few can relate to big money, cars, or jewelry, but troubled relationships are another story altogether; there’s no reason Breakin’ My Heart shouldn’t be a listener favorite.
I think its a sign of HUGE respect towards LB that when other artists hook up with Lil' Wayne, they take a seat. On this song, that couldn't be further from the truth. Great!
Damn. What else could I add? Other than pointing out that Little Brother couldn't resist throwing in a little political action at the very end, even on a romantic track.
its gotten to the point to where after weezy wrecks da beat i just shrug it off like thats just wut i expect from da kid. scary thing is he only gun get better
idk why i was a lil surprised to see lil wayne on this track w/ little brother. but i like it and like so many of yall said, its not their best but is still nice. their on of those groups thats slept on on the mainstream level but doin big things none the less.
