Early last week, a song entitled A Milly ‘leaked’ on the World Wide Web. This version featured both Lil’ Wayne and Cory Gunz and was a mere 1 minute and 32 seconds. Several days later, a new version ‘leaked,’ which expanded the song to roughly 3 minutes and some change and still featured both artists… plus an insane amount of DJ voiceovers. So, to kick off the start of a new week, we have been sent a new version; this time only featuring Weezy (bye Corey, sorry to see you go) and four full minutes without annoying ad libs. To clarify for our readers —who are subject to false information from a plethora of other websites— Milli (spelled correctly) is the street single off The Carter III and can also be found on the new Drought #5 mixtape, Grand Closing. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why Weezy make’s em “wanna lick the rapper.”
ok the beat/background effect is worse than lupe's gold watch (also annoying as hell). and i feel like ive heard better from weezy, this just isnt impressing me... standards too high? whatever the reason, not feeling it
Sounds like a great beat for a reggae song. I say drop a remix with bounty killer or shabba ranks. The only reason I like Wayne is because he never recycles his lyrics. If he does he changes the delivery and I can't even recognize it.
hate this beat, so repetitive and gets on my nerves...was hoping it would stop at one point, but it didnt. Wayne did his thing, change the background and I would definitely bump this.
This song has very high ratings...I sincerely can't understand why! This is garbage to me, boring, annoying, there's nothing I like here. And that background voice is terrible
Yeah people, Lil Wayne's on my Favorite Rappers list but we need to tell the man when he fails to deliver... I didn't like Lollipop! So you can tell what I think about this. Most of y'all said what I mean (PattyPatty85,SBHS,mk18769,londons finest...), even those who rated it 4/5, which is disturbing... are we gon rate Lil Wayne 4* or higher just because it's him? If they put a song here by some unknown artist and (by mistake) say it is Weezy's, y'all gon go crazy for it.
You cant take from the flames he spitting on here........I will take one away for the annoying beat....better yet EXTREMELY ANNOYING BEAT.....If it would have faded out on his verses and just came back as the hook I gaurantee it would have ratings out the roof
i don't get it! really 4s and 5s? lollipop is much better than this, this just doesnt do it for me. i'm still up in the air about how the carter 3 is goin to live up to expectations...weezy is versatile in style, BUT NOT AT ALL WITH HIS RHYME SCHEMES
The flow is fire...
but that fuckin backround is givin me a fuckin headache...
its sweet at the end of the song when its nothin but that playin...
but itz kinda hard ta understand wut wayne is sayin...
i had ta listen to it 3 times b4 i understood all tha lyrics... Wayne is my nigga, but i gotta drop em a 3 on dis one...
I am a big cory gunz fan and this is one of his good ones he tore it down i can say the same for weezy but its deff. a good track amy be if they eliminated the little voice during the versus but i mean i like it
i dunno man... i really wanna say its good and give it high ratings but thats only cuz its lil wayne imma be honest..but this song is wack...this song and the song "I" were shyt...i thought it was just a fluke last time so i gave it a three...this song immma give a one...stick to wat got u the millions before bro...dont switch it up
Yo Z, can we get confirmation that this is the most vast array of opinions on one song ever? He really does rip this. You have to understand how he really kills anything...just because it's not HIS best doesn't mean that it's weak...because he is THE best.
I heard the version with corey gunz and the voiceovers and it annoyed the hell out of me...this version is nice though....waynes flow is above average and if it werent for the repetive "A Milli" in the background it would be better
I'm surprised so many of you don't feel the swag on this song. It's just soooo Lil Wayne its not even funny. Prob would have made a better mixtape song... however I'll take it as the intro (as its rumored to be) for the Carter III. I am in love with these heavy 808-drum beats like "Hello Brooklyn" and "What you gonna do"
I just downloaded this mixtape like 15 minutes ago! This track is FIRE! His flow is Un-fusk-with-able! This is an artist at his finest. This is the flow of the future! This is a Classic! OMG!
Okay. The Lyrics are pretty good, I personally think that Lil Wayne is the best lyricist out there. But this beat sucks as. And I have Wayne spit better sooo. 2 out of 5.
Everyone saying the background voice is annoying, believe me it will grow on you. I thought the same thing first time I heard the track. But this ish is bangin fo sho.
evanbrown7389: It's pretty much impossible for me, or any of the DJBooth brass to calculate what reviews received the most all-over-the-board ratings, but just by a glance, it does seem to be that way. Wayne outdid himself a long time ago and many of his die-hards have a problem with anything short of spectacular. My thoughts? He is going to run out of things to say in 2010.
The beat is bangin'....but that "A Milli" throughout the entire song got f*cking annoying to me. Other than that, Wayne is on point as usual. It's good enough to go into rotation, but since its a mixtape track, I'll give it 4*'s.
Weezy is off da chain in here ! He is rapping like he is from Mars or some shit like dat, especially at 0:50 he is going just nutzzzzzz
Production is good, but not great. anyway I hope this track won't make a cut on da actual album
i know this is going to make some lil wayne fans mad, but i don't car. wayne is starting to become fucking annoying. im tired of hearin him on every track. he saturated the market so much that you have no chose but to like him. It hard not to like him because for every good song he has he has like 30 bad ones. I cant wait still he drop the carter 3 also so we cant quit talking bout that as well. Im not hating just telling the truth about lil wayne.
damn what goin through your minds? givin it a 1? do any of you even try to hear the lyrics? or you gotta rate as if you can dance to it? it aint gonna be fire but to rappers and fans of rap its damn hard. and boss dogg waynes a superstar in my opinion but you most probably want something to work in a club and wayne'll give it to you but noto 9 outta 10 times
