After a flurry of leaked material spread through the Internet like wild fires in Southern California, the self-proclaimed “Mr. Hip-Hop” (otherwise known as Lil’ Wayne) has yet to reveal whether any of it will actually be placed on the highly-anticipated, Carter III. With a flimsy December 18th release date, Cash Money and Universal Motown would be expected to begin pushing an actual single to radio. However, with no such song yet available (most likely pointing to a 2008 release), Wayne has dropped the studio version of his BET Awards-performed, Gossip. The song, both powerful and ironic, has Wayne rapping over an underlying heart monitor which flat lines when a break is taken between verses. 50 Cent called Wayne a “whore,” but if he keeps rap alive, we’ll all keep talking!

Strong showing here....
But, i have heard better from wayne...ever since i heard the joint with him and juelz the bar has not only raised for him but for the game altogether... and unfortunately i think i have bought into waynes hype and therefore cannot make a decision if its what i feel or a result of all the brew haha surounding this guy. so to be fair i am not reviewing wayne's songs anymore...b/c honestly i feel like if i say anything negative about him i must be a hater. Things are too cloudy right now...lol |

When I first heard a song from Weezy, his creative lyricism and flow was something I've never heard before and it instantly caught my interest. Wayne is probably the most improved rapper out today by far. Okay Wayne...I'll finally admit it...you are the best rapper alive.

Weezy the best. Wow this song is good, only Wayne could make something on this level. This man works his ass off and it shows in his music. Every line is fire with metaphors, similes, and hidden meaning. C3!

Lil' Wayne. Rides off beats, because that's all he's got. He will never be up there with the greatest of all time. Just because you take a few rappers' styles and try and try like them, does not mean you are them. I just wish Lil' Wayne would pick up a pen and write soemthing more meaningful, than trying to freestyle and rhyme everything and sounding all szchitzo.
What the @*#$! does this mean: "And if I'm wrong, there is no right And if I'm wrong, there is no white I'm tryna be polite, but you bitches in my hair like the @*#$! po-lice" and also: "Steer my Robin Coupe through the streets of the boot... and Soo-woop And, then I leave blood in the boot, I leave a blood bath, Sorry there's a tub in the boot, now where the drugs at? I'm twisted like the strings on shoe No nigga f**k that I'm twisted like the string on a boot, now where New Orleans at? I feel hip hop stole me like a bus pass So in your possession, I, I, I must ask..." The kid needs to to think about what he wants to write be more creative! Hell, EMinem, Rakim, KRS-ONE, Marley Marl, they all wrote rhymes that kill em all. Lil' Wayne does not do that! Step your game up Wayne and stop prostituting yaself, boy! |

Uh lokee he does make sense if i'm wrong there is no white, i'm just trying to be polite does make sense, what you mean you don't know what a boot is, or are you just slow! Think about his verse's real hard and come back to us with the answer!

Just because you know how to rhyme doe NOT mean you are the best sweetie! What the @*#$!'s "po-lice"! stupid rhymes! And lil' wayne aint never killed nobody, and never will, so why is he acting like is? stupid rhymes.

you are right twotwofive. I don't feel rap like I feel hip hop! Much less Lil' Wayne, like I used to feel Lil' Wayne's music. I like Lil' Wayne back in the day, but now, his style is not him. That is why I don't feel Wayne like I used to. He used to spit that fire shit, like his hits, "Tha Block Is Hot", "Light's Off", "@*#$! Tha World" "Get Off The Corner", and "Shine". After those two albums, he started changing, because I didn't feel 500 Degreez, like them first 2 albums. First, He ran off Juvi's #1 album "400 Degreez" with 500 Degreez. It never comes close to comparing it to 400 Degreez. And for the Carter, it was alright, but nothing like his old fire flows. Lil' Wayne used to write some good shit. Now, he doesn't write, so not all of his rhyme, TO ME, make much sense.
Everybody is entitled to their own opinions, and this is how I feel about Lil' Wayne now. Obviously he's talented in someway, because he has fans, but I like the old Wayne style better. Maybe because he used to be hungry then, and now his minds burnt on all them drugs consumed. "Duffle Bag Boys" is one of the fewest songs lately that I like with Lil' Wayne. |
