When Lil Wayne first exited Rikers Island the media went a little, shall we say, overboard? Weezy’s first post-prison guest verse! Weezy’s first post-prison party! Weezy’s first post-prison Hot Pocket! But now we finally have something worth talking about – Weezy’s first post-prison single! New banger 6 Foot 7 Foot brings back A Milli producer Bangladesh for a bass knocking, looped beat that utilizes an incredibly unlikely Banana Boat sample at its core. Of course the real story here is Wayne’s vocals, which (thankfully) find him leaving the singing and spoken word styles of I Am a Human Being behind in favor of some flat out rhyming – rhyming whose merits are undoubtedly being hotly debated in the comments below right now. And I haven’t even gotten to Cory Gunz guest verse, which shows that the Young Money signee can flow with the fastest of them (could he have outrhymed Wayne?). I’m frankly not sure yet if 6 Foot 7 Foot is dope yet – but I do know it will get everyone talking about Tha Carter IV, currently scheduled to drop in February 2011. Let the speculation begin….

I'm pretty sure that, aside from 2 or 3 carter3 tracks, Wayne hasn't spit more than 2 lines back to back on the same subject since Akon's Sweetest Girl. I'm sure I overlooked a song or 2, but my point is, it's a lot easier to rap when you take 50 1-liners and reorder them to rhyme.
There was a ray of sunshine with the "family picture" metaphor he built. That was clever. Maybe the jail time made him more lucid and able to form complex thoughts. Cory Gunz has been slept on for a very long time. He's got talent without a doubt. Hopefully Wayne will start Pusha-T-ing him into a household name. The beat was A Milli recycled with different samples. I looked into Bangladesh's history and nothing is that impressive. Dude's garbage in my opinion. |

After just one listen, I am impressed. The beat was pretty nice and it looks as though getting locked up did Wayne some good. I'm gonna be hearing this everywhere I go as soon as this hits the radio and all the wankster's speakers in the school parking lot.
Cory Gunz... I'm convinced at this point that he is just about the best artist signed to Cash Money minus a select few. artists. Regardless of how short his verse seemed in comparison to Lil Wayne's, I think he killed it and came out on top. His rapid fire flow is sick and addicting as hell. Overall, definitely a good look for Wayne. The Carter IV might be a hit after all. |

Nas would be corny for hopping on this cuz Wayne's whole lane is corny in comparison. I guess we shouldn't hate on Soulja Boy or Roscoe cuz Wayne can't do what they do without sounding corny. I'll let OJ Da Juice Man and Waka stay on their bullshit cuz its what they do.
But 2 things about Wayne get me. 1. He inarguably used to be a better rapper. Check out his Moment of Clarity freestyle or Hollywood Divorce verse for proof. 2. People analyze his words like they're divine. I would accept him for what he is if I didn't have to hear everyone inflate him to something he's not. |

There's enough hype behind this record to carry it on to everyones phones, Hi-Fi's and car systems. No surprises with Wayne here, he didn't miss a beat but the real surprise is Cory Gunz. I have slept on the dude up until now, he goes real hard... Works for me

@ XuUP17 - I agree with most of what you said, though to be fair on Bangladesh he did also produce What's Your Fantasy.
I honestly thought that Bangladesh said he would never produce for Weezy again due to him having to fight over royalties to A Milli. I guess money talks, lets see if Jim Jonsin stays true to his word. To this track, I honestly does seem like a A Milli redo, which in all honesty isnt a bad thing. Lets all be honest, Cory Gunz killed Weezy on his own track. 3.5 |

does everyone just give the track 4/5 stars because of the artist on the song??? this is far from impressive and a huge step down from some of his recent work, and cory gunz who??????? just cuz ur the son of a rapper who had one good hit song in "deja vu" doesnt make u anything. dude is a lame who has not 1 hit song to his name. the whole young money clique is a bunch of misfits who suck and cant make it in the rap game cuz they're terrible wayne just signs them for tax write offs purposes. Lil Wayne's Verse goes like: Aww shit. Here we @*#$! go again.... But Cory Gunz's goes like: Hoorraaayyy!!! So in that case this song has more positives than negatives. I do agree that Lil Wayne's crazy punchlines get quite repetitive but just look at the game right now. There's a lot of melody rap songs with a lot of "meaning" and "feelings" and yada yada yada. Lil Wayne doesn't need to do that now so if you are saying Lil Wayne is not "hot" anymore then stop expecting something else from him now. If he wants to switch it up and go into soulful meaning sh.it then he will. Take a look at The Carter 3. Tracks like "Misunderstood", "Comfortable" and "Tie My Hands Down" are all tracks that proves he's willing and able to do classic tracks. To all the doubters and haters and all the people who say Lil Wayne is "trash" or "garbage" needs to reevaluate and then maybe just shut the fuk up. Period. But anyways, the beat is BANANAS! Im not a huge fan of Wayne, although TC3 was classic. This is definitely a return to form since IANAHB and Rebirth were both crap. Wayne spazzed out, had some insane punchlines, and Cory Gunz did his thing.. Definitely a great re-introduction to Wayne |

I'm gonna be honest...though I doubt many of you care at all...I'm closer to the side of rating Weezy as "overhyped and overrated" than the side of "Best Rapper Alive". But this verse is what he always does, and he does it pretty well: punchlines that can make you laugh. Bangladesh came through on the beat that sounded like a cross between 'a millie' 'im mikey' and 'whip yo hair'. Much better than the mediocre beats he was dropping earlier this year (anyone hear the bland Tongues, with R Kelly and Luda??)
This would be a two or three star if not for Corey Gunz destroying the track with a second half of concentrated awesomeness. Gunz used to drop the punchline filled slower flow, but this exemplified his versatility and turned alot of heads. Im impressed. Considering he is the new signee featured on the track, he carries it pretty impressively. |

A friend told me about this track and had the up most respect for it, i listened to it and was extra disappointed. i just expect more from wayne for some reason, i thought he'd step up his game after missing so much from being all locked up. It's still early though, we shall see what goes down!
