Lil Twist - Turn’t Up
Featuring: Busta Rhymes
Producer: Young Chu
Album: None (Promo Single)
Label: YMCMB/Universal Motown
A pint-sized emcee who puts the “Young” in Young Money and an industry vet who’s old enough to be his dad, Lil Twist and Busta Rhymes make an odd couple, but the new labelmates have at least one thing in common: they’re “Turn’t Up in this b*tch.” On Twist’s latest single, the helium-voiced rap wunderkind comes together with the Northeastern mainstay to do a little cross-generational stunting. Over Young Chu‘s icy synth-percussion boardwork, the Southern youngster comes with bars as energetically flowed as they are swag-laden: “I stay turnt up like a stove with a tea-kettle / Swag sick like a kid in the hospital / All that and your doe still a lot little / Twizzy and Bus-A-Bus spittin hot riddles.” Busta continues in a similarly braggadocious vein on his middle 16, shaking his head at those who doubt Twist’s skills and warning the haters, “Don’t front or I’ll sic the little n*gga on you.” Can you f*ck with this flossed-out collaboration? If so, keep it locked; both Twist’s untitled debut album and Rhymes ’ E.L.E. (Extinction Level Event) 2: End of the World have yet to receive a drop date, but we’ll keep you supplied with the latest news and tunes.

Made for mass consumption. In that respect, it works. Nice energy from both emcees, especially with Busta who is finally back to his rapid-fire flowed self.

I hate his voice, and he sounds way to young to be cussing like he does on this track. It just doesn't seem right to me.

Lil Twist is not really easy to listen, but Busta did his job correctly. It's not really worth turning up, but it can pass.

Song is average for me. Twist was decent and stood his own but his voice is hard to listen to. Not sure I could stand an entire cd of his voice. Busta does a great job to.

Sounds like a slightly lower production value yelawolf track, but that's pretty much its only downfall. Twist can rap fast-paced with vets like busta. Yeah, his voice is squeaky, but he still has a few years of puberty for that to change so I won't hold it against him.

It's alright Busta delivered a typically dope guest verse, and Twist while nothing amazing shows potential, he's already got a nicely developed flow so give him a while to develop and he could be nice.
