New Jive artist Lil’ Mama, appears from the New York rap scene, with the single Lip Gloss from her upcoming debut album, The Voice of the Young People. She is young and she is here to fill a void. The void left by female rap artists of the past. Her ode to lip gloss is set to an up-tempo, beat courtesy of James “Groove” Chambers, and is frankly the ear catcher of the song. Lil Mama’s performance shows her age, as she clashes with solid production work, thus making the song seem noisy and chaotic. Women young and old all wear lip gloss, time will tell if they all will embrace the future of female rap.
it is elementary @*#$!… i made beats like this n lyrics exactly like dat in grade 5 or so… its loud, not enough diverse words other then “what you know bout me??” n “lipgloss”.... she should wait another year or so be4 she try out a new song… GROW UP FIRST!
Another chicken noodle song, could be the song of the summer if the kids do it right. It has lip gloss product placement all over it.You`ll see her in commercials, magazines, videos, posters,u name it.
tha beat is to basic and who would care bout a song that talks bout different types of lip gloss? if you added somethin to tha beat, and threw in some clean lyrics, it’d be a grip betta than this trash
Maybeline has a new soundtrack for their next commercial. This is a pre-teenie bopper song. Beat is sub-standard. If the hook had more layers this song could of been released to the adult radios. However, this song could make a huge profit with middle school or high school students. I bet the sales of lip gloss will be up 10% after this song is released, at least this song will help cure the chapped lip phenomena.
I am feelin da beat but not da lyrics. If she can do it so can i. That song was so simple, all she do is talk about some cheap old fashion lipgloss. She can come down here in MIAMI n we would show her how 2 make a real song. MIAMI is poppin, MIAMI is cool !!
If all yall be hatin on lil mama u just jealous cause you cant spit rap like her if u think u bvetter than her spit something now at lilsoftballchick_10@yahoo.com
if i were her....i wouldnt even accept fame from this single...until she makes the statement “i cant believe my worst song made me famous, i have no respect.
