Back in ‘85, Zapp & Roger could hardly have predicted how quickly Computer Love would become a reality. I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to the idea that digital love (and lust) isn’t exclusively the domain of people too unattractive to venture outside, but, regardless of how I feel about the matter, the times are a-changin—for yet more proof of how mainstream “cybering” has become, take a listen to the official remix of Lil’ Kim‘s current single, Download. Originally featured as the lead single off DJ Envy‘s It’s Moovin and subsequently chosen for inclusion on Kim’s forthcoming Vintage LP, the track is back with a few revisions—T-Pain‘s beat and hook are left as-is (along with R&B vet Charlie Wilson‘s backing vocals), but The-Dream steps up to the mic to deliver a brand new verse, as does tech-savvy hip-popster Soulja Boy. It’s not a drastic change from the original, but those who liked the track the first time around (okay, the second, counting Computer Love) won’t be disappointed by this revamp. Keep it locked to our frontpage for release details on Vintage, Kim’s fifth studio album.

i made the mistake of not givin this a 5 the first time around, thats not goin to happen again.
all 5 artists sound great on here. the dream absolutely killed his verse. im surprised how well soulja boy sounded and did on this. |

I prefer the original over this any day as The-Dream's light as feather vocals add nothin to it and Soulja Boy sucks hard! .... I've tried so hard to like Soulja Breezy, but it's lazy a*s droning played out efforts like this that turn me away from his music ... OK.

I don't remember the original, anyway this version is cool, everyone here does their think except for T-Pain which I don't like and Soulja Boy. I can stand him in some of his songs, but here he was out of place.

To me... Lil Kim is so unattractive, but her songs are so sexual it makes her kind of desirable.
But what really amtters is the song... It connects with everyone now-a-days, because who hasn't met someone on MySpace who was a straight freak and all u could think about was nastiness?! I mean, seriously. She really came through on this song... She did good @ connecting with her listeners. Especially those of us on DJ Booth. Lol Moral of the story, Lil Kim will always be a good artist and she does very well. I just wish I heard more of her in the beginning of the song, cause you'd never know it was HER song! |
