Forgot to brush your teeth today? Have no fear, Lil’ KeKe‘s stepped into the Booth with a record that’ll leave your breath smelling Fresher Than a Peppermint. OK, I lied – this new single won’t cure your halitosis, but it will put a spring into the step of Dirty Southern rap aficionados. Leaked to the ‘net back in October but presented here in its final, mastered form (courtesy of beatsmiths Beanz N Kornbread), Peppermints finds Keke teaming up with Houston icons Slim Thug and Paul Wall, along with Dallas’  Dorrough for some heavy-duty stunting. Over the aforementioned production duo’s sizzling synths and stomp-clap-click percussion, the Texan emcees unleash a slew of larger than life boasts and a deluge of fresh/fly-themed similes. If this swagger-drenched cut leaves you feeling minty-fresh, keep it locked to the Booth for all the latest tunes leading up to the second-quarter 2010 release of KeKe’s 13th studio album, Only in America.

Catchy beat and okay rapping = in rotation. I liked that Dorrough mentioned he is going to make another hit

As a fan of hip hop I don't like this record. I just find it annoying. Nothing against any of the emcees or the Beanz N Kornbread (which btw is such a dope name for a production duo). I can respect our southern rap fans tastes, however, and from what I hear this is really picking up steam in Texas. So, I'll say rotation (even though I personally wouldn't rotate it in a set here in Chicago).

Star-studded lineup... but this really wasn't that good. What was with that repetitive hook? That got really old, really fast. All of the verses were decent but predictable. Not impressed.

This has nothing to do with the song, but have you seen Paul Wall lately? That dude's seriously about 250 pounds. Man's apparently been eating well.

Anyway, I had high hopes for this one but it doesn't really deliver, honestly think it's mostly the beat that does it. It's just a little too simplistic to really move the track along.

This will get air play because it's repetative and easy to sing along to. I was expecting more with the top notch line up. No one really kicked it up to that altoid level. Guess that's why it's just peppermint fresh.

The chorus is annoying, I think.

I love the Southernized beat though.

Verses are too short though.
