While New York seems to take most of the credit for creating the East Coast hip hop culture, neighboring city Washington, D.C. has actually made many contributions. In fact, graphic t-shirts, performing with a live band and many a slang word are trends that can be attributed to our nation’s capitol. Letting the world know that not many people can do it quit like they do, emcees Yung E, Mood Streetz and Dre Strong of Likeblood have released the city reppin’ single, Like Us. Over electric guitar-and-synthesizer production courtesy of fellow D.C. musicians Chucky Thompson and Endustreatz, the threesome provides plenty of reasons why their home city might shine a little brighter in the future. Their current mixtape project, WLBR: Likeblood Radio (Vol. 1), is available for download online.
I like this track right here for some reason! I like the beat and I like the chorus and the swag that these guys have on the beat! I never heard of them before; but this is a solid track right here! They all sound like they have a lot of potential in the game. Definitely a Rotation Joint!
Not into it. I have mad respect for up and coming artists like these guys, so maybe I judge their initial efforts a little too harsh. It's all constructive criticism though, I just think they coulda done better lyrically and the production is just OK.
They sound unsigned. This track sounds like it's just some regular dime-a-dozen local rapper track with no original though. The beat is decently produced, though it uses some common, cheapskate instrumentation. Naw, I'll pass. In the meantime, I'll take this as a chance to promote my free mixtape project "Forever Words" that is still available for download on http://www.youngsonmusic.com. PEACE!
Yea I'ma cheak out them foreverwords MH! Whats the next track you gon hand us? As far as this song, this beat is good, clearly these cats are unsigned but this is not bad. They talkin bout BS, but who isn't these days? This is ok!
I think this track has a solid production. The beat is good and the music is really fresh, I'm feeling it! They sound good, I would put this in rotation
The lyrics are very generic, as some of you have pointed out. The beat is real real hot, again, as some of you have pointed out. It's really that simple. (However, look out for these guys in the future... they have some hots joints w/ Raheem DeVaughn)
