After her departure from Destiny’s Child (and eventual replacement by Michelle Williams) in 2000, many wrote LeToya Luckett‘s career off as dead in the water. Six years later, however, the H-Town native released her self-titled solo debut. Featuring radio megahit Torn and its moderately successful follow-up, She Don’t, the album was Platinum-certified. Ready to do it all again in ‘09, LeToya has released a brand-new single (with a video already leaked) written by Grammy (and Best of the Booth) winner Ne-Yo. Fed up with a consistently-disappointing relationship, she decides that she’s Not (going to take it) Anymore—instead, she’ll save everything she’s got left for a man who will treat her right. Bei-Major‘s piano-synth beat gives LeToya’s vocals room to shine, and should help the record get radio rotation. Her sophomore album, Lady Love, will be released on May 19, and Booth-heads should be sure to check back in late April when she stops by for an exclusive interview.

I think Letoya sounds good on here. The production is smooth and laid back. Chorus is good. I'm not really a slow song type of guy, but this can go into rotation on the slow jam section of the MP3 Playa!

This isn't a bad track. It is a slow song which isn't usually my style, but I really can't hate. She sounds pretty good. In rotation.

Letoya you so purrty...you can sing pretty well too. (Haha ok, don't know why I'm addressing this comment to her)This was pretty good for a guy like me who doesn't necessarilly go out LOOKING for good female R&B music. The vocals were on point and the production held up pretty nicely.

I was never a huge fan of her work, but then I realize I never really gave it a chance. Sidebar: I listen to sooooo much music on the daily, this happens from time to time.
The melody and writing on this record is super, but then again neither can be credited to Letoya. Although, she holds up her end with some radio-ready vocals and plenty of maturity.

i forgot my headphones at home, and the ones im usin now how absolutly no bass, and very little emphasis on the beat, but the vocals stand out and sounds amazing, she got a beautiful voice, the tone is great for this song, good lyrics they make sense and do completly fit, not sure im put this in rotation cuz its about dudes lol but still my decision is its a 4.5

shes trying to tell a story. shes really trying to make a song out of words. the chorus is ok. if there were better words this song would be good. cuz she does have a great voice. she doing the sing- talk- story- tellin like beyonce. not cute. |

I actually really feel this track. Her voice is a fresh change from the mainstream females like Beyonce and Rihanna. (god i can't stand Rihanna anymore.) So, I'm calling this one a Banger. Hope to hear more from her in the future.

I love Letoya Luckett's last CD. I still listen to it to this day! I like this song...but I don't LOVE this song! It might be the beat or the vocals...I don't know. I need her to come with something better. You gotta come back betta than that, girl, if you gon' try to beat out Beyonce'!
