Certain words are often associated with one sex over another when heard within the framework of urban music. For example, let’s employ the word “swagger.” The expression, which is most commonly defined as “an air of overbearing self-confidence,” is often used by male artists. However, just because it is predominantly used by men doesn’t mean that women can’t possess “Swagger” as well. Out to prove that the association can exist between both sexes is former Destiny’s Child singer, Letoya Luckett. Over a beat from producer Bridge, the Houston singer makes good use of her hometown talent and scoops up Boss Hogg Outlawz Slim Thug and Killa Kyleon, and “UGK for Life” member, Bun B, for guest verses. Luckett will release her sophomore solo album, Lady Love, this coming February.
THIS BEAT FIYAH, THIS MUST BE A STREET BUZZ SINGLE WIT ALL DEM FEATURES, BUT OVERALL IM FEELIN IT, I AINT THK SHE DO AS WELL AS SHE BEEN DOIN, BUT I GUESS I WAS WRONG. SHE JUST MIGHT BE MORE SUCCESSFUL THAN KELLY ROWLAND'S SOLO EFFORT.
Letoya's voice isn't strong enough for her to be a serious contender in the R&B industry. The features do a great job on creating a vibe respectable to Latoya's. Pretty good record to start with for a sophomore album.
I have to disagree. I think Letoya does have what it takes to make it in the industry. She can sing her ass off, and she look good. This beat is good and the lyrics are good too. Good colab's with Slim and Bun; even though I don't really like them like that.
It is good as far as Slim and Bun, but Letoya is forgettable in this song, I wouldnt ever remember her if this was the first time I had heard of her. "Get ya swagga up" is kinda catchy so I'll throw it in rotation. Also, the beat works well too.
Not a bad collabo--better than a I expected. A great production all around. A potential chart-topper. Definitely an early-club-dropper right before the action starts on the dance floor.
Letoya is Lucket is lucky she has affiliations with Destiny's child cause her career seems to be bearly holdning on like a locket on a thin silver chain
