“Ah, the children of the night… what sweet music they make!” Sorry, I was just practicing my Bela Lugosi impression. Anyway, newly-released single Nightfall, the first Booth feature from up-and-coming West Coast crew The Let Go, finds producer Captain Midnite cooking up an appropriately atmospheric, sampled blend of rock and hip-hop as emcees Type and Kublakai inform their doubters that not even the darkest of skies will keep them from climbing to the top of the game – in fact, they become more fresh as the hour grows later. Topped off with a guest verse from Minneapolis’ own P.O.S., this left -of-center cut should have no trouble seducing listeners with a taste for brooding alternative sounds. Those who like what they’re hearing will be able to accompany The Let Go on further nocturnal wanderings later this month, when the trio’s latest full-length, Morning Comes, arrives on record store shelves.

I spotted this song on several Twitter timelines this morning and immediately had to check it out. Needless to say the buzz was more than warranted. Real fresh flow, production, and overall vibe.
The Northwest has a wealth of talent (especially Seattle) that needs to be unleashed. I am looking forward to hearing more material from this trio.

Z said it. Nice production!!! Only hip hop I been hearin lately is on the radio, so needless to say, it's nice to hear some originality comin from the hip hop airwaves. A welcome change from Rihanna Wayne.

Guitars were dope in this production. This is some original sh*t right here. I love it. All of the verses were solid and the hook was pretty well done too. Good stuff.

Based on the intro I was expecting something really different, and the Let Go delivered. I'm definitely down to hear more from the guys - this is the definition of quality hip-hop.
And I'm not sure I hear the Bee Gees in the production 149th, unless you're talking about the vocals on the hook, which does get a little 70s-influenced.

I have never heard of this singer but it was actually not that bad-- I will be listening for more of his stuff Had a nice beat a great flowing lyrics

statement does it kinda true because this tune grew on me as i kept listening and this production gets me in the groove and yh i said groove. i enjoyed this and its a good thing they have their own sound and from what i can see their own style. hope they "dont go anywhere soon" good shit |
