After paying his dues on New York’s underground scene, singer/songwriter/producer Lee Carr finally got a break when a major label record deal fell to his feet. Before thinking it’s all sunshine and roses for Mr. Carr, though, allow us to inform you that his new label is Jive Records; notorious for constantly delaying their artists’ projects. Since introducing a brand new artist is never an easy task, Lee will try his best hand with the slow ballad, Never Let U Go. Setting himself apart, like many before him, Carr puts a little voice box into the chorus (Jive must be having a sale on them) and adds an old-school beat courtesy of the Mental Instruments. All in all it makes for an enjoyable track, but will it get the label’s attention?
Lyfe Jennings was on 106 & Park today and he was discussing the lack of recording artists who make their music sound real. Many upcoming singers tend to switch up their styles due to their label's request, let's just hope that that doesn't happen to Lee Carr.
Yet another Smooth Track For a Friday Night/Morning! Lee Carr can sing great on here! I like the good beat and overall feel of the song. This is a Banger to me!
He has a Mario feel to him. A well-written song, but, most importantly, well-sung. I need to hear some more tracks from Mr. Carr before I can really judge his talent, however this is a great start.
I like the warm feeling of the track. Definitely feeling it. Reminds me of some early 2000s Usher. Hope to hear more. He has a good voice naturally, which is always a plus.
Wow, I've never heard of him before but his sound is just tops. Definitely a track I'd roll with on long drives at night (and I'm rather selective on what I listen to when I ride). There's no denying this is a good track and will probably get picked up for some airplay. What really impresses me is that his voice is unique. For the first verse or so, I thought he was a ne-yo clone. But once he got going, his voice is unique in a subtle way. If you don't believe, take a very close listen and compare him to other rnb artists.
I must say these r&b ballads are all the same! It could be Let Me Love You by Mario, U Won't Find Me by Lil' Eddie, but also So Sick by Ne-Yo and many others...nothing original in my opinion! BTW, it remains a very good song, deep and warm, perfect to create a certain atmosphere u know what I mean lol
Lee Carr my dude got hits like "Greatest Love" "King and Queen" and " The Way We Used to Be" been following this dude since before he been singned and this song was on his myspace for a while its hot deff a banger. Got alot of talent can't wait till his album i think he will give us some good slow games to make babies too lol
P.s. I am not the Father
This sounds like it could be a Lloyd track.. let me think which one its similar to.. ?? umm?? oh yeah!! "You" feat. Lil Wayne. But it sounds alright tho.
I lied! This is not a Lloyd track. I was @ work w/o my headphone and was bouncin' it low on the computer speakers. Now, I'm the lab bangin' it w/bass. This joint is hot!
idk y this simple beat sounds so good ha .... so smooth !!! and idk just a good song i think its almost that banga for me but i got to put it just in rot. for now .... i know i'll be listin to it more then the average rot. tho!!
