Over the last few years, DJBooth has chronicled the rise of traditional R&B and rap records that encompass a club-oriented, dance-element. While artists like Timbaland, Kanye West, and Ne-Yo have built their recent success off of electro-influenced music, 22-year-old pop singer Stefani Germanotta was taking real good notes. Known to the masses as Lady Gaga, the Streamline/Interscope artist is capturing the nation’s ear with her debut single, Just Dance, which just recently underwent an audio makeover. Produced by Akon and RedOne, the original version features Colby O’Donis, but on the remix fellow Konvict crew member Kardinal Offishall has been added to the fray. Gaga’s debut album, The Fame, has already been released in Canada, but will land on store shelves in the United States on October 28.
Akon just doesn't stop killin' it! This is a decent track right here. It's not really standout enough for me to want to hear it over and over again. Kardinal is OK on here. This is just OK to me...
Club Banger, Akon beats almost always on point and this one was just that. Kardinal felt a little out of place though and didn't realy bring it like he could. I've heard of Lady Gaga but have never heard her tell now and I must say she wasn't bad. I'll throw it in rotation.
Akon's beats are starting to sound alike. Her voice is strong. I think they should see what she can do with a deep balled after her name gets out there. I gotta feelin she can do some things.
I'm going Gaga over this white chick here (Sorry, I'm in a white girl stage right now...they just be looking so bomb lately)...lol...anyways, this track is straight. I feel like all of the music coming from Konvict Music is sounding the same though...and it's kinda boring me. This was straight though. I haven't heard the original and I'm glad, cuz I'm getting tired of Colby. Kardinal smashed this. This bangs. I'll give it 10 minus 6.
I heard the original on the radio and i didnt know it was this chicky chick...i'm getting sick of akons "konvict music" chant just like red cafe's "what else"...i know its their catch phrase but damn...i wish kardinal had a bigger part in this...the beat is kool though, kinda makes ma bop my head just a lil bit
NO ONE HAS HEARD THIS SONG PRIOR TO THIS!!!! ok, i see we all go to exclusively "urban" clubs...lol (and am black so hold off that comment) Almost everybody (mostly white apparently) was on this early and mid summer! the new beat doesnt match the intensity of the original red-one beat...i liked the original (couldve done without colby) but this refix is "huh huh!"
I found out the original version with Colby just these days and I must say I love it, I listen to it a thousand times a day! With this new edit they didn't improve the song at all....the beat is just average, and Colby killed it, better than Kardinal for sure! This isn't horrible, it's in rotation, but the original one was a banger to me
haha michael hannah...i am have ben going through a black guy stage and im guna stay that way 4eva! lol....anyway, i actual-e lyk thiz song...i thought she did gud but kardinall wuz jus ok.
