Last month, Kyle Rapps and Diwon came together with Y-Love to drop the Honey Dijon FreEP, their latest release under the Hood Samaritan banner. Just a few short weeks later, the Harlem-based rhymesayer and buzzmaking beatsmith are back with the inaugural leak off their next collaborative project. Inspired by the film Drive, Night Call finds Diwon flipping a sample from Kavinsky’s similarly-titled Nightcall into a ‘80s-informed backdrop for Rapps’ introspective bars. Like what you’re hearing? So disapointing... I don't like to criticize too much and I try to give positive feedback but the whole "80's" feel to the original is what made the track feel special. Too much boom, boom, baps, hand claps and cuts for my liking... Sounds like mayhem! If it was kept simple and they just rocked with the eneregy of the track instead tryting create their own it would get 2 stars instead of 1.
Oh and the rapping was average too, didn't match the hook and didn't make sense. This sure as hell ain't no American Terrorist III or as near good as the original Nightcall... |

I like Kyle Rapps no-nonsense type of delivery on the mic. Nothing too flashy, but straight to the point. I like this throwback beat very much. The chorus was smooth too. I'll bump this a few times.
