Unauthorized leaks are never not a drag for artists, but you know what’s even worse?  Unauthorized leaks with embarrassingly poor sound quality.  If you’ve heard this unreleased cut (and potential Streetlights inclusion) before, do your best to forget it, because what we have here is the bona fide, artist-approved real deal.  Anyways, this record crosses the starting line with such energy that “You Know it’s something special.” from bar one.  Dogg Pound emcee and former Death Row head honcho Kurupt launches into his opening verse without hesitation, and gives his take on the classic lyrical topics of riding, smoking, and lovemaking with fast-paced panache.  You’d expect plenty of chemistry between a producer and emcee working on a collaborative LP, and that’s exactly what you get here—Terrace Martin proves perfectly in tune with his partner, delivering a breezily energetic percussion-driven beat with that unmistakable West Coast feel, and a catchy, funk-laced hook to boot.  Streetlights hits stores this summer, and if you’re a fan of classic Cali hip-hop, You Know you’ll be picking up a copy.

Damn - Love the Throwback Westcoast vibe on this. And it's good to hear from Kurupt again. I can dig this one, Westcoast music always impresses.

YOU KNOW it's something you can chill to...softer instrumental than what we're used to, but he makes it fit here!

Just goes to show that you shouldn't dismiss just because of an unauthorized leak...9 times out of 10, the real mastered version is much better! (like you saw with "Crack a Bottle" and will soon see with Twista and Akon's "On Top" as well as his collabo with Busta, Kanye, & Pharrell "Billionaire")

People want to know when the West Coast will rise again... take one listen to Kurupt and you'll understand why it never fell. This man has been consistent for over a decade now.

PS. Terrace Martin is one of the best up-in-coming producers out of the Left Coast since... (refrains from starting large argument).

He has a good flow but I think it would be more suitable for more energetic productions. This one wasn't bad but not my favourite. I didn't like the hook!
