KRS-One & Buckshot - Runnin Away
Artist: KRS-One & Buckshot
Featuring: Immortal Technique
Producer: Black Milk
Album: Survival Skills
Label: Duckdown Records
If the four tracks we’ve already featured, along with the simple fact that two emcees as legendary as KRS-One & Buckshot have joined forces for one hi-octane collaborative project, haven’t convinced you to purchase a copy of the newly-released Survival Skills LP, you may be beyond help. For the few still on the fence, however, we present standout track Runnin Away, which finds the seasoned twosome teaming up with underground mainstay Immortal Technique to deliver a triple-helping of lyrical fire, with a side of revolutionary rhetoric. Veteran producer Black Milk‘s densely-layered boardwork has an exotic flair, and its syncopated percussion rhythm complements the collaborators’ aggressive flows beautifully. Intense, contentious and a tad paranoid, Runnin is sure to leave hardcore heads hyped. Survival Skills dropped today via Duck Down Records and is available now in stores and online. Watch for another track off the album to hit our frontpage next week!

... and THIS is why you need to go pick up this album. One of the best (and most complete) hip hop albums of 2009. Period.
Sidebar: Does Immortal Technique ever give anything but 100%. |

Who's in charge of the album reviews? Because whoever is needs to make an album review for Survival Skills. I finally got a chance to listen to the entire album today and I gotta say it's probably one of the best albums I've heard in a while in my opinion. I pre-ordered the vinyl version from underground hip-hop dot com last month and I can't wait until it comes.
But I thought that if there's going to be another single than it would be "Oh Really." And as for Runnin Away it's one of my favorites on the album. Black Milk did an incredible job on this track, just like he always does. |

Straight up HIP HOP. Sick beat (which is nothing new from black milk) and sick rhymes, no filler.

1 Legend, 1 Underground King and 1 Revolutionary all on the same track backed by a Black Milk beat which is overly dramatic/energetic in the best possible way, can’t go wrong .... BANGER!!!

No doubt about it, this is a banger. Glad to see IT on a track with Buck and KRS. I would never have guessed those three would be on the same track together.

Kinda off topic but why do we have a purchase link that takes us to an article about iPhone 3g release in Japan?

Yeah. KRS-One really killed it, but so did everyone else. Black Milk is a fool for the beat.
