As two emcees who played integral roles in hip-hop’s Past, are still going strong in the Present, and seem destined to remain in the game for the foreseeable Future, KRS-One & Buckshot know just about all there is to know about carving out an enduring artistic niche, and, with the Sept.15th release of their Survival Skills LP, they’ll share that hard-won knowledge with heads everywhere.  On this album cut (not slated for selection as an official single), the vets link up with two current buzzmakers whose futures couldn’t look brighter; between Buck’s opening bars and KRS’ intense closer, Chicago Picasso emcee Naledge jumps on board to spit a lame-baiting guest verse over 9th Wonder‘s lush funk-soul boardwork.  Topped off with the smooth hook vocals of rising soul star Melanie Fiona, this track is more than just a collab—it’s a constellation.  Interested in seeing these seasoned vets rock the mic live?  DJBooth.net has teamed up with Duck Down Records to give away two free tickets to KRS & Buck’s Sept. 16th Survival Skills release show.  Click here to learn how to enter!

this is def a quality song, but im jus not that into it. i think its jus because its not as fierce as other recent features from Survival Skills. i prefer when KRS and Buckshot are more explosive with their music, this is more laid back.

There was nothing I did not like about this song. The production was really enjoyable. Can't go wrong with these artists (Naledge held his own with these guys). I really dug the hook too.

Other than DJ Premier, 9th Wonder's my favorite producer. And he did a great job on this one. But I agree with GStan, there's nothing that I don't like about this track.

I can't wait for this album. I already pre-ordered the vinyl from underground hip-hop dot com.

How do you spell B-A-N-G-E-R? Oh yeah, "Past Present Future." That looks about right.

WHOA!!! Both Krs and Buckshot sound exactly like the seasoned veterans that they are and Naledge is impressive. Production is nothing short of sensational and is just another reason why this song is a BANGER!!!

KRS-One and Buckshot definately still pay attention to hip-hop because they knew exactly who to go to for completion of their album. Naledge and 9th Wonder are always good and are two of the better guys in the industry right now. Naledge held his own but even he was still outdone by KRS's lyrical verse at the end. 9th Wonder's production is too epic. He is real hip-hop in an era that is not considered to be. Buckshot killed it so hard too. I don't know much about Melanie Fiona but she ABSOLUTELY KILLS the hook. I mean really, could they have put together a better track or album. CLASSIC ish for 2009.
